Just learning about this off of Newsnight. Absolutely beyond belief, and utterly heartbreaking. I've paused it just so I can relay some of the facts that surround this young boy's wretched life.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Absolutely Livid.
Daniel Pelka... would not have happened at my wife's school, I can tell you that categorically. I know it was the mother and stepfather that actually killed him, but there was so much that could and should have been picked up at school.

Nov 11 to Jan 12. Three instances of him caught stealing food
22/1/12 - Seen eating a pancake from off of the floor
1/3/12 - Eats fruit from a bin.
Jan 2012 - Bruising to neck
Jan 2012 - Bump on head
Jan 2012 - Two black eyes
And I really don't think that what's required here is a hand-wringing Nick Clegg saying that this little boy's death should be on all of our consciences .
As Pru would no doubt attest, he could have got that within 140 characters, and possibly has. #handwringing.

if these things really are still making you angry - perhaps some kind of therapy??
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Success at At Bolton
, you did something OC that even Megson and Lee couldn't do send us down and then you tried to do it again until PG finally grew a pair. I honestly believe Barnsley are going to absolutely obliterate them tomorrow. 4-0.

Anyhow, not just me, judging by the reaction to his name at the fans forum and a few things being said.

Sentenced to life. 30 years before they will be even considered for parole. Doubt they'll see the outside again, tbh.
Just read the judge's sentencing remarks. Word of warning: the stuff in here will no doubt be seriously upsetting to all

Shouldn't kids your age be too busy smoking weed in bus shelters to get angry all the time?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

they don't have buses (and therefore no bus shelters) in the regions, LK - they are all in London...Lord Kangana wrote:Shouldn't kids your age be too busy smoking weed in bus shelters to get angry all the time?

Ah yes - sorry, shouldnt kids your age be hanging about near sub-standard single-lane bypass roads counting caravans and smoking weed?

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Absolutely heart breaking.
Only today I attended an emergency strategy meeting where children were to be removed from a household. More often than not, its the result of parents selfishness or hopelessness, and very rarely does it involve outright cruelty. Sad to say though, that whatever safeguards are in place this kind of thing will never be stopped whilst there's such evil bstrds roaming the planet.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Indeed. I feel for the people who work in social services because it's such a fine line to walk. You don't want to be putting kids into care who don't need it, but then the consequences of getting it wrong the other way are catastrophic.Harry Genshaw wrote:Absolutely heart breaking.

In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.
