Tomorrow night = Battles and Caribou at the Apollo.
Looking forward to watching John Stanier meticulously mash his drums. The man is rhythm.

Tomorrow I'm off to Wembley Arena to watch Foreigner, Styx and Journey in an AOR fest. Daughter's first live concert (she's 10) so wanted something not too controversial.
I have dug out my old Clipper lighter for the 'aloft sway'.

What a fantastic night!
If you get the chance, check out ANY of these bands live. I'm not a massive AOR fan but these three bands have inspired me to invest in some of their back catalogue.
Also, check the story of how the Journey lead singer got the job. At 5 months younger than me there's still hope I'll be 'discovered'.

Re: Where are you going tonight?
Tonight I was at the Reebok with two brothers and three friends for the memorial service for Bolton supporters who are commemorated at the club - in the book of remembrance, or had ashes scattered on the pitch, or, as in my father's case, a memorial brick on the 'Pathway of Fame'.
It meant my dad's name was read aloud and his passing recognised at the place that meant so much to him in life. And it was a commemoration of Nat as well, and the 33 that died in the Burnden disaster 65 years ago.
It was handled really well by the club, who provided snacks and drinks and - in the vicar of Bolton - a man who knew the importance of the occasion to those there. For me and my brothers it was moving - we spent a little time before the ceremonies sat around 'his' seat, silent, watching the grass grow, and, we realised in one funny moment, all of us with tears on our cheeks...
We agreed we'll meet up at his favourite restaurant on his birthday and celebrate it - which is a good decision... We also agreed it would have to be subject to the fixture list... As he would want it...

It's a decent line up, looking forward to it. Don't think there's many poor line ups this year, 'cept maybe Glasto

Re: Where are you going tonight?
I've always liked Peter Kay. I had never seen him live before but I loved Phoenix Nights and his earlier stand up routine dvds. I found some bits of Max and Paddy funny too, although there was too much dross in that series for my liking. I've noted the negative comments made by some posters on here about him too. So I went to the O2 last night with an open mind.Zulus Thousand of em wrote:Tomorrow I'm off to the O2 to see Peter Kay. I'll let you know.
Last night he was just phenomenal. He had a crowd of around 18,000 in his hand from the minute he walked onto the stage until the minute he left after two standing ovations. He did loads of new (to me) material and very little old stuff. When he referred to old stuff he did so with a wink that acknowledged the fact.
He is an outstanding talent, in my opinion. Thumbs up from Zulu.

I really really wanna go to Sonar in Barcelona one year, but im too grown up and responsible for those kind of trips now – plus id struggle to get any of the lads to go there for a birthday or stag jolly either, because they’s all rather go to IOW or similar. gayshisroyalgingerness wrote:It's a decent line up, looking forward to it. That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Pulp were one of the highlights at Primavera. Opened with Do You Remember the First Time and they didn't let up. Great set! 15 songs of brilliance.jimbo wrote:Enjoy Pulp. I'm off down to Wireless the day after finals finishes to see them. Can't wait.
I'm considering getting a day ticket to Leeds because they were that good!
