i might get one and print me off a life size Jennifer Connelly!
Re: Technology Thread.
Brucie, what they're saying is you can print off the bits and make a gun. All the efforts so far have been shite, but the theory is there. Will be interesting to see how the licensing will work on these 3D printers.

Re: Technology Thread.
Nah that's the I meant. It's a gun, sure, but you've as much chance of killing the person you're aiming for as you would if you lobbed a handfull of ball bearings into the air and hoped one reached terminal velocity before cracking him on the temple.

They only used parts to add to a real gun on that didn't they? So not an actual gun.

Re: Technology Thread.
I dunno about the first one referred to, but the one in America they printed off everything apart from the firing pin.

This is correct, though it was extremely costly. Still far, far cheaper to buy a gun just about anywhere in the US.Prufrock wrote:I dunno about the first one referred to, but the one in America they printed off everything apart from the firing pin.

And it was shite too! You'd be better off taking the money out in coins and throwing it at someone.

Interestingly, the Firearms act makes it an offence to be in unlawful possession of any part of a firearm, so in effect, the penalty for the bloke who printed a plastic trigger could be swingeing. I'll bet he doesn't make another one anytime soon.

Well, it may lack accuracy (with no rifled barrel) and it may fire only a .22 cartridge, but I'd rather be hit by a thrown nickel than a fired nickel-jacketed .22 - although I'd prefer to be missed by either.TANGODANCER wrote:You fired one?Prufrock wrote:And it was shite too! Well I took the iPod touch back and got a refund, Only bought it for the camera really and it seemed to have a nasty green glow problem on pictures taken under artificial lighting. Ruined every shot I took with it.

Re: Technology Thread.
Anyone got one of those NowTV boxes? Would like to watch iplayer and the like on my TV. Options are Xbox live, which is £40 for the year, and I hardly ever play online, or one of these boxes. Any others out there you'd recommend? Main priority is cheap and cheerful.

If someone (say the ma and pa Prufrock) had say Sky, you might be able to get Skygo on the XBOX as one of their two devices, you can add in other apps like YouTube, iPlayer, Blinkbox etc, to get quite comprehensive TV coverage...
Re: Technology Thread.

Re: Technology Thread.
modd means modified, the rest is just brandnames for the companies or the devices themselves. Western Digital like calling themselves WD .TANGODANCER wrote:

I quite often find myself in a similar position and a1 usually sorts me out.

That's not a leopard!
