Poor woman. R.I.P. When will the government realise that policing needs more funds, not cuts. They behave like crime only exists outside their own little worlds yet every day brings some new atrocity. Prevention hs always been better than cure.

I thought it was Gow. Anyway, RIP to a woman simply trying to make her birthplace a little better for all. Utterly shocking news.thebish wrote:last time summat like this happened - was it that libdem MP who got attacked by someone with a sword?

Terrible. Just awful. RIP
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: This weeks RIP's........
I've not been able to verify it but Bob Williamson, the Bolton comedian from the '70's died yesterday.
The one of his that sticks in my mind was when one of his mates, Billy, died when he fell in a vat of boiling chocolate at work and all his mates sang "Billy, don't be an aero.", which kind of dates him as well as the joke.
Last seen on TV, I think, when he did a couple of the 'auditions' on Phoenix Nights.

The brilliant, wonderful, intelligent, witty, troubled but absolutely beautiful Caroline Aherne has lost her fight with cancer, aged just 52. I honestly can't remember the last time I felt this sad about the passing of someone who I'd never met.
