Whinlatter is terrific, the highest manmade trails in the England. bit of a long, arduous climb out of the carpark (easy for a roadie) the views from the top here are amazing, looking down over Bassenthwaite Lake. but then its pretty much full throttle descent back to the carpark, then you can go up the other side. its very rocky tho, which = very slippy in wet conditions, which tbf is 90% of the time. Grisdale is another. Grisdale you can tie in with some more natural 'off piste' trails, which is what the lakes are all about, if you know where your going!

Yeah I've cycled over the pass a few times and the views are awesome. Good descent into Braithwaite as well. Will have to give the MTB a go there as well. Need to try and get a bit more explosive in my climbing rather than setting a steady tempo which I'm currently more comfortable at

good thing about Whinlatter (llandegla too) you can hire bikes, big decent full sussers. which is great if you wanna see what its like before shelling out a load of dosh.

For any top end stuff, get your frame made at Demonframeworks.com in Southampton. Total bike porn.
Alternatively, a bit cheaper is Burls, but still quality stuff.
Anyone on a budget should check out planet x bikes website, some good 29'rs on there (amongst other stuff); and they run the cycle to work scheme.

Ha, I wish, It's the 4th time I've put it on eBay, Always seems to get a bucketload of interest but no one wants to take the plunge and actually buy it. This is my last crack at eBay, hopefully someone will be interested, It's a fantastic bike and i'll be quite sad to see it go. (If it ever does)

I thought they'd got you by the balls on ebay too!

(Anyway, on a much more pertinent note: Mountain Bike advice - mine would be don't. It's lethal. )
