Ajmal Shahzad has signed for Lancs. I was initially very happy indeed.

Then I thought, "Can he bat?"

Probably not. So it doesn't help much, does it?

Still, it'll annoy the Yorkies, so we can file under "reasonably happy".

I chased leather for an hour while he was on his way to making 137 against us a few years ago. He's alright giving it a whack at number 8.

Hmmm. But when Lancs have collapsed to 60-5, is he the man you want to come in and steady the innings?

Or should we expect relegation for Lancashire as well as Wanderers this year?

I thought that ... & then thought "but they can go no lower" so it's not the same concern.

Plus, at least, last year they won the title !! :oyea:

My season tickets. As soon as I placed my order (last saturday) I got an e-mail -'Your season tickets will be dispatched to you within 24 hours'

No tickets by this morning so I rang the club

"Oh you wont be getting them for a good while yet"

"Well the website said.."

"Aye, dont know why it does that, we think its linked to when you buy normal matchday tickets"

Oh dear. Think it's ticketmaster that run the website for them so they've probably little input lol. Bought mine in person and they said end of July, around 2 weeks before the season starts.

I'm trying to get myself back into road cycling, to get myself fit. Went for a nice circular ride this evening. Why is it that even on a circular ride, the wind always seems to be against you? :| :conf:

Maybe I'll fit one on the back of the bike, blowing against my back. That'll push me along. :D

Anyone know what time Argos is open until today? I need to pick some stuff up.
Their website and robotic phone woman just give their standard opening hours.

You know? Sometimes you read about something and think - how the hell have I never heard a single mention of this before? How many people on here know that a plane once crashed close to Stockport town centre? Not many, I'll bet. Well it did, 45 years ago today; 72 people on board were killed. Now bare in mind that I worked little more than a stones-throw away from where it happened for four years yet have never heard of a single mention of it. Bet I would have had it happened at the other end of the Mersey.

Not angry or happy, just bemused. This random person has added me as a friend on facebook. Never met him or had any contact with him online, can only presume as he has an Arsenal picture on his page that he has added me because i commented on an Arsenal picture on the Arsenal facebook page and he saw me as a fellow gooner.

Why do people who you don't know add you on facebook? This isn't the first time this has happened. Do some people have no proper friends? :conf:

See, I had a bit of a funny how-do-you-do. A guy sent me a friends request with the same(very uncommon) name as an ex-school pal of mine, but looked very little like him. My school pal was always a bit of a bloater (hussht :D) and this guy was quite skinny, but I thought that with 30 intervening years it was acceptable that I perhaps wouldn't have recognised him had we passed in the street. What also swung it was that we seemed to have quite a few friends in common (all from school). Anyway, a few months later I was actually contacted by my real school pal, and there was no mistaking that it was him either. I still don't know if I should've asked the imposter what his game was before simply un-friending him. Was all a bit weird. :?

I don't use Facebook much, but on one occasion, I sent a friends request to someone I thought I knew - indeed the name was right. It wasn't until logging on the next day that I realised it was the wrong person. I'm now "friends" with a rabid Bluenose Brummie...

Just bizarre.
