Not sure, it's meant to be a prequel to Breaking Bad, and he drafted Huell/Hywel(?) in part way through the show. It does leave open the possibility for Mike to be resurrected though!hi there, i'm chris wrote:Heull? I'm assuming he will be.

I'll be having a look at The Peaky Blinders, a gangster drama set in Birmingham after the first World War. ( B.B.C.2, 9-0'clock) Nice family who sewed razor blades in the peaks of their flat caps. First of six episodes.

Watching it now and quite enjoying it. However, I can't help myself assessing the dodgy accents. Very, very poor. (or "poower" as they (should) say in Brum).TANGODANCER wrote:I'll be having a look at The Peaky Blinders, a gangster drama set in Birmingham after the first World War. I'll shut up an try to enjoy it for what it is.

His first appearance was when he was sent to take care of Ted, but I don't recall the dialog involved in it. If he was presented as 'new' and Saul had never met him before then that rules him out, but if there was little by way of explanation as where he came from then he could easily be used.Beefheart wrote:Not sure, it's meant to be a prequel to Breaking Bad, and he drafted Huell/Hywel(?) in part way through the show. Mike definitely could be in it, as he was already a Saul guy during his first appearance.

Ah, I thought he was hired as a bodyguard initially and then was set to sort out the Ted problem after that. I could be wrong, but I'm sure the writers can have him in the show and make it make sense if they want to. I hope he's in it!hi there, i'm chris wrote:His first appearance was when he was sent to take care of Ted, but I don't recall the dialog involved in it. Enjoyed Episode 1. Not looked yet where it was filmed, but for atmospheric, top marks. BBC do period stuff so very well. Sam Neill does the hard-nosed Belfast copper very well.Always hopeful wrote:Watching it now and quite enjoying it. However, I can't help myself assessing the dodgy accents. Very, very poor. Agreed. Shame he's only one of a few who seemed to have been bothered to learn an accent. Isn't this a pre-requisite for all actors?TANGODANCER wrote:Enjoyed Episode 1. Having said that, I found it enjoyable and interesting and assuming it's based on fact, something I knew nothing about.
Hope is what keeps us going.

Good news everybody [1]
Although it only finished airing about a month ago, so eager are the Beeb for you experience it, that the first series of Count Arthur Strong is getting a repeat on prime time Saturday evening BBC2 at 7.30pm! Huzzah! We can chuckle away at it all over again so that's my Saturday evenings sorted for the next six weeks!
[1] Well, I say everybody. Clown types not invited, obviously.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
^^ To fully appreciate how appallingly and desperately unfunny Count Arthur Strong is, watch one of the repeats of the timeless Dad's Army that's on just before it first.

May the bridges I burn light your way
Re: What are you watching tonight?
I'd never seen any (Count Arthur Strong) so when I turned on half-way through last night I thought I'd have a look. Wow. Not *quite* Mrs Brown's Boys level of shite, but oh so very close. Wont be making that mistake again.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Enjoying catching up on 'Educating Yorkshire' on 4OD
Re: What are you watching tonight?
Time for the weekly 'wow how good was breaking bad this week?' post. Probably my favourite episode of them all so far. Perfection.

Forget about the film "Sharknado" that was mentioned a few pages back. Its just lost the title of most bizarre shark related film, to the one currently on Syfy..... "Ghost Shark". All I can say is... What the feck!!!!!

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I saw a trailer for that. Looks quite ridiculous. Watched another classic the other day, Piranhaconda.wigan white wrote:Forget about the film "Sharknado" that was mentioned a few pages back.
