Re: Brexit or Britin
We do it often, within our own system. Legislation is passed, Joe Bloggs gets a court ruling saying the interpretation is in his/her favour. Government thinks that'll cause unintended consequence and challenges lower court ruling through our own judicial system.Bruce Rioja wrote:Let me get this right then - The EU lodged a complaint with the EU?Hoboh wrote:The EU on the grounds that the UK was discriminating against other EU citizens over entitlement to residency to make a claim for the UK rate of benefit.

If I was trying seriously to change anyone's mind, I wouldn't be doing it here on this forum.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:That's because you're chasing those 9% of UKipers...or are they a lost cause too?Hoboh wrote:Never chase lost causes anywaythebish wrote:well - job done - I have now voted and it is officially too late for any of you feckers to change my mind!

Votes belonging to folk on here count just as much as those belonging to folk in the Guardian commentsHoboh wrote:If I was trying seriously to change anyone's mind, I wouldn't be doing it here on this forum.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:That's because you're chasing those 9% of UKipers...or are they a lost cause too?Hoboh wrote:Never chase lost causes anywaythebish wrote:well - job done - I have now voted and it is officially too late for any of you feckers to change my mind!

What with one worlder's and people who'd sell their grannies as quick as their country's sovereignty so they can line their pockets and flit about all over the EU? Apparently, Pru might be able to help here, given his recent visit to Amsterdam's Red Light district....

I spent the whole weekend playing Euro hokey cokey but was pretty set on out this morning. Then I saw the Sun headline promoting exit. I'm not sure I can vote for anything that Rupert Murdoch endorses. I think I'll just have to see how I feel on the day

Aye. It's an odd feeling. I've never been so close to an election before without knowing for certain which way I'd be votingBruce Rioja wrote:I reckon that that's what it'll come down to for a whole bunch of us.Harry Genshaw wrote:I think I'll just have to see how I feel on the day

Boris Johnson
Michel Gove
John Whittingdale
George Galloway
Iain Duncan-Smith
Chris Grayling
John Redwood
Nigel Farage
Katie Hopkins
and you can bet your bottom dollar, rouble and franc that Trump, Putin and Le Pen would be delighted if we took our ball back.
That doesn't mean to say that I think all is hunky dory in Euroland but I shudder the thought of that lot being given the political whip hand in the aftermath (part of which will almost inevitably be the break up of the UK).

Love it or hate it, the one thing the Sun is good at though is managing to back the right horse. If they're saying exit, we're probably going to exit.Harry Genshaw wrote:I spent the whole weekend playing Euro hokey cokey but was pretty set on out this morning.
