Thoughts are with you mate. Stick at it but for God's sake dont involve lawyers unless you absolutely have to, they'll take you to the cleaners.

Ta mate, getting divorce sorted this year, so unfortunately will have to get the lawyers involved. Upto now, I have the kids 3 days a week, nowt in writing but what we agreed when we split up, but when she has a tantrum she stops me seeing them. Its laughable to be honest.

I've been through it twice now and trust me, if you can agree things between you, do the paperwork yourself and just pay the court fees. Use the CSA to determine maintenance - my ex's solicitor threatened to go via the CSA, so I referred myself. It cost me a hundred quid a month less than I was giving my ex in the first place. If you can't agree, from bitter experience here's what will probably happen if my experiences and those of several friends are anything to go by:

You'll receive a letter from a solicitor acting for your ex wife. It might be amicable, suggesting that the divorce is your fault and suggesting that in the circumstances you should consider covering the legal costs of the divorce - Do not under any circumstances agree to this unless you fancy writing a significant four figure, or even five figure check sometime later. Its carte blanche for them to fleece you. And they will.

If not, you'll receive one stating that your behaviour has been outrageous in some way and threatening all sorts of ramifications. This is designed to get you to seek legal advice of your own. Once you do this, the two solicitors will between them, send a flurry of letters making accusation and counter accusation. Bear in mind you are paying 50 quid for every letter sent and 25 quid or thereabouts to receive a copy of your wife's letters plus a covering one from your side. A good friend of mine faced a bill of over ten grand in that way for no result.

Whilst I'd hate to see you dressed as Batman climbing the floodlights at the Reebok, I doubt whether a solicitor will get you a better settlement than you could arrange yourself in time.

If you can sort it yourself, do, but if she keeps messing about it might be worth getting a contact order so she can't.

If you do end up having to go the legal way either because she does, or you feel you have to, go here for help: http://www.resolution.org.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's a fab organisation of lawyers who will try to get it sorted without the needless expense.

Well, I don't know what the tories are upset by. They are, as we all know, on the side of risk takers, wealth creators and the hard working, and this guy fits the profile perfectly. Up every day, significant commute undertaken willingly, risky job carried our enterprisingly, supplying a well established market as a small businessman. He's a really hard working family man and criminal and a credit to Tory Britain.

Not even you believe that Billy.

It's extreme examples of the abuse of the Human Rights act which lead to it being held in such contempt.

I guess that 95% of what it results in is uncontentious. So ludicrous extremes like this do it a great disservice. (actually, I think it's a pile of old shite but I'm trying to be reasonable here).

There's nothing in an extradition which means his right to a family life is challenged. His family can go with him if they chose.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Same could be said about these 'political correctness gone made' stories. They are often of the most extreme examples of what is generally a good idea, and even if they're made up like the 'banning christmas' ones they are still damaging.

Man picks up gun from another gang member, gets stopped by cops and is shot dead. Blowed if I can see what all the fuss is about??

Trust the BBC to concentrate their coverage on the one element that criticises the cops whilst ignoring the violence inside the court.

His right to a family life. brilliant. Wonder how many family lives he's fecked up with his trade?
The human rights act was a necessary and important piece of legislation post-WW2. Now it's bloated and ripe for abuse by criminals and lawyers who make a packet off it at the taxpayer's expense.
But if you criticise it you're 'against human rights' according to some.

Aye, & the Jury are effectively chased out of Court. Too much of this will reduce the viability of Trial By Jury. Then let's hear the screaming.

Following the verdict we have quite competent people seemingly unable to understand the logic of the Jury's views that ;
a). He'd thrown the gun away as they actually stopped him.
b). The Police didn't know this and believed he still had it.

Too many are already questioning these two findings as compatible, whereas they are entirely so.

Feral b'stard won't be missed.

The rest of your post is highly contentious. The highlighted is just, demonstrably wrong. And demonstrated by the anger of people at a verdict of lawful killing. I heard of his mother's heartbreak and his aunt's interview on the radio today. I also heard his friends, angry at the verdict, seeking what they view as justice for an unarmed man killed by the police.

Do they have to ask your permission to mourn the death of a son, a nephew or a friend?

Just watching this on the news.

From what I gather Duggan was a scumbag living beyond his apparent earnings (I wonder what his job was?).

He won't be missed. His family, friends and associates don't look the type to be missed either if they disappeared.

I meant by decent people. Sorry. I should have been clearer.
