With the sound bar turned up to ... no, not eleven ... twenty eight.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Filmed in the 80's, there was some proper mullets. Sure there were some out of work Kajagoogoo band members playing session.bobo the clown wrote:Yup.Worthy4England wrote:Pink Floyd.

The spare guitarist was Tim Renwick ... a sort of guitar for hire & very good indeed.Worthy4England wrote:Filmed in the 80's, there was some proper mullets. The backing singers were tasty and fyi one of them was called Durgla McBroom !!
That tour ended up at Knebworth the year after and the singers were augmented by Clare Torry and Sam Brown.

Aye, the bassist, sax and the other drummer also had fair mullets.bobo the clown wrote:The spare guitarist was Tim Renwick ... a sort of guitar for hire & very good indeed.Worthy4England wrote:Filmed in the 80's, there was some proper mullets. The other two backing singers with Durga were Margaret Taylor and Rachel Fury. Always amazes me how they do that stuff.

Any "rhythm" element has my utter admiration. To step out of the music being played and keep the drum beat, or the bass semi-independently is amazing. I'd so want to go off on my own tack.
The singers must want to drive on, but are limited to the various doo-wops. Timing has to be supreme.
Also, so many of those sessioners will be more competent than the people they are supporting ... which must be very frustrating.
But Durgla McBroom ???? What a name !

Apparently, now married she's called Durga McBroom-Hudson - which sounds like an instruction you may hear on Upstairs Downstairs.

Watched Berberian Sound Studio last night.
Amazing film. Like falling down a rabbit hole in a deeply disturbing yet utterly captivating manner. Toby jones is superb. Can't wait to watch it again

Tonight, surely, has to be Babylon - 9.0pm on C4 as Danny Boyle returns to telly...
But this afternoon was Dallas Buyers Club at cineworld... Good film, excellent acting, comparatively low on tension, shirks the political debate it sets up, which is a shame...

It seemed like a Cop based 2012 to me.General Mannerheim wrote:Didn't think a right lot of Babylon.
Now that's not a bad thing, but it just seemed to be a bit derivative from the Burydog Millionaire.

Good episode, set up nicely for the rest of the season. It was getting stuck in a rut and needed to move on.jaffka wrote:bobo the clown wrote:Dougie ?jaffka wrote:the walking dead is back on tonight on fox

Comedy not funny enough. Drama not serious enough. Not a great start. Pilots are always difficult. The series is commissioned. I'll give it a crack.General Mannerheim wrote:Didn't think a right lot of Babylon.

Agreed, I thought 2012 too, though I think 2012 was better. Primarily because it was so close to the nose that it felt slightly uncomfortable at times, but funny nontheless.bobo the clown wrote:It seemed like a Cop based 2012 to me.General Mannerheim wrote:Didn't think a right lot of Babylon.

Whereas Babylon, which has a lot of promise, edged towards sillyness at times which meant it had to be funnier than it was to work.......
