Seriously? That is my idea of Heaven. I hope to one day choke on a Tunnock's caramel wafer. There simply no better a way to go!Little Green Man wrote: They also have a four foot long Tunnock's caramel wafer above the door.

Sorry to disappoint, but I suspect it's a mock-up. They do have a plate of them at the bar though.Bruce Rioja wrote:Seriously? That is my idea of Heaven. As nice as the TCW is, I'd think I'd prefer to cash in my chips while enduring a good seeing to by some raven-haired minx.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Gray Dunn were a separate company as far as I recall. They went bust quite a few years ago.

I simply had to read that up then.Little Green Man wrote:Gray Dunn were a separate company as far as I recall. They went bust quite a few years ago.
Yep, they went into receivership in 2001, though some products remained & the Caramel Wafer was one, but it seems they died a death.
They had also been the producers of Blue Riband until Nestle's bought that brand from them. I imagine that was not a good, long term move.
Nestle's by the way, not Ness-Lay. It was never the Ness-Lay's Milky Bar.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Three very large boxes delivered today whilst I was out.
New hobby in the offing and I've purchased a 200P Newtonian telescope with a heavy duty equatorial mount and goto guidance system plus associated bits and bobs. I will be tying this in with my other interests and hopefully getting into some astrophotography, hence the heavy duty mount.
I kind of had Mrs Claptons blessing for this new (fairly hefty) investment but she was expecting a hand held device rather than something Jodrell Bank would be proud of

have always been interested in astro-photography - presumably the motorised mount will help! (never interested enough to splash out on the kit, though...)
have you been watching to much Professor Brian Cox???

I'm sure it will come in useful for that one clear night we get a year.clapton is god wrote:Three very large boxes delivered today whilst I was out.

Or do you have a block of apartments facing your house?

Hey Clapton - how many fingers am I holding up?

They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.

Great purchase, clapton is god! I've a 10" Newt sitting five feet behind me as I type. Regrettably I couldn't afford a you-beaut equatorial mount (never mind the motors and computer) so it sits on a Dob.
This year I had promised myself that I'd spend a bit of time in Orion, but the weather has been bloomin' awful and on the odd evening when we have had little cloud the seeing was less than ordinary at best.
Good luck with the new toy, mate.
Clear skies.

So it's stars rather than Planets that interest you Dujon? Only I wouldn't want to read that you spent too much time in Uranus (giggle).

First game at Langtree Park tonight. There's been talk of a new stadium all my life watching Saints, and tonight finally is the start of a new era!

They may have put it there to remind everyone of the 5 straight grand final defeats! Anyway, last night was brilliant. Far and away the best rugby league stadium in the country and a real credit to the club and the town.thebish wrote:I think it means "5"Worthy4England wrote:They need to fix that scoreboard.
