I'm about halfway through season 3 but this is second time round. So much going in I missed first time, loving it again.

Absolutely love this, totally p*sses on the uk version although I quite liked that too, but the US one has loads of laugh out loud moments, which actually makes a change for an american comedy.General Mannerheim wrote:I'm about halfway through season 3 but this is second time round. Yep, apart from the first and two penultimate seasons. The final one was great. The first was the poor translation of the UK script ( which probably cost it many UK viewers) then it really started scraping the barrel towards the end until the brilliant and fitting finale. But the stuff in between is pure gold.

Fun and games at the darts. Phil Taylor ( far from his best right now) needs 130 for out. Gets two treble twenties, needs double five, busts it by getting double twelve. Young lad with an odd haircut ( bit reminiscent of the three stooges) doesn't get out. Taylor gets two more treble twenties, needs double five again, gets double twelve again and busts it again. Loses game. Taylor now recovering and is 5-5. Good stuff. Van Gerwin up next

Watched '20 feet from Stardom' which recently won the best documentary at the oscars. All about the criminally under appreciated backing singers to some of the worlds biggest acts. Really interesting, really entertaining. Recommend watching it with headphones on and the volume up!

Really enjoyed it. Though I did think some of the sex scenes were gratuitously long.Beefheart wrote:Surprised to see 'blue is the warmest colour' on netflix, figure I'll give it a watch.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Has anyone watched any Waking the Dead? (about zombies)
The other half has heard people talking about it on facebook so has treated us to a box set I'm hoping someone has seen it and will tell me it's very deep/funny, very good and not scary.. anyone..? Sopranos with zombies would be perfect! I'm not sure I want to watch zombies right before going to bed... she may have to watch it on her own.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Only watched the first series - which I enjoyed very much, though not quite wow for me. Didn't watch the second which was apparently awful but then again from people i talk to they say it's improved a fair bit from that. will have to give it another go someday.Armchair Wanderer wrote:Haha, wasn't completely sure on the title so put zombies in brackets, that'll be the one!! I'm trying to get this atm, which is a video game of the show, which apparently is brilliant (so many game of the year awards) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walkin ... video_game" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Top again. Best thing on the box.
Gonna have to demote it to 2nd best thing on the box though, after learning there's a new series of Archer currently showing. That's me sorted.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
The game sounds good, the people that made it used to work for LucasArts according to the wiki and they used to be good back in the day. I remember Monkey Island and a really old Indianna Jones game that were good. I feel old now, you had to type commands like "Use whip on [nearby character]" and it'd either do it or it'd say something like "That would not be pertinent right now". Typing in a game? Did that really happen?
