Bloody facebook. Ages ago a friend had posted some mildly political point on FB that after a bit of discourse prompted a mate of his to refer to black people as monkeys and generally denigrate all immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees etc

Normally I'd just ignore the pri*k but it wasn't just one comment, and when challenged by me & others he just used more racially offensive comments.

I decided to use that report abuse function they have on there. Several weeks later they've e-mailed today to say their report on the incident is ready - I clicked on a link to read "We found that these comments were not a violation of our policy"

Yet they delete pictures of women breastfeeding. Pretty inconsistent I feel.

Folk with Rotweillers who let them run loose in their front gardens.

Had a bit of a nasty few minutes with one today. I was walking past a house not far from home after a dog walk, decent folk, friendly and always speak. Had our little fella on a lead and harness when out of the blue this xxxxing great rottweiler appeared with one of those growls that induce diareagh just hearing them. Either jumped over the garden wall or the gate was open, not sure, but it flew at our dog, who thinks he's a lion, and the daft little sod managed to get out of his harness and start barking at this thing as big as one of the stone lions on the town hall steps. The monster had him in seconds and luckily didn't get his jaws round him before I jumped in and gave it a slap. I grabbed nutto and tried to hold him up and away while the rotter jumped up at me. I roared at it (mainly from fear) and gave it a Bogdan. It was like kicking an anvil but it backed off and I legged it away. Of course nutto decided to get all brave and start growling at it (well, he would from a position of safety) but I managed to get some yardage and get clear. It was still prowling the road but didn't follow us, fortunately.

I'll be having a word with the neighbours (who didn't appear at all) but I wasn't going back while I had nutto with me. Not a pleasant few minutes though and my heart was giving it some revs when I got home.

Over the years I've had a handful of 'face-offs' with dogs but by some fluke have always managed to pacify them. Then again I wasn't walking a dog (or a cat!) on those occasions.
