Oh, she read it on Facebook from the mainly leftie troll pages.
I don't particularly like Trump, he strikes me as a little unhinged at times to be honest and I'd much rather have had a more stable republican (If there is one).
Right, now that's out the way I'm pleased he won because I like many others are sick of faux socialists with their hands in the pockets of large corporations who are far removed from the majority trying to dictate everything and labelling everyone who does not agree fascists etc.
Clinton was no change and all the bullshit spouted about the great Obama years is responsable, remind me who it was sat back and did little while ISIS romped around Iraq despite the despite all the so called US commitment to that country?
Gun massacres seem to have increased during his term, wages have been at best frozen, he stupidly got involved in Syria and now Europe is paying a hefty price for his policy, no wonder folk didn't want someone tainted by that as President, woman or not.
And I agree with much of your criticism of the US political elite, and that it needs a shake up.
It's possible to criticise both sides as they deserve it. Shocking campaign all round.

Maybe This new presidential reboot of Trump will look at the protests and tone down his hateful bullshit.
Nothing wrong with that. We were all similar at that age to some degree. So I'd cut her and her friends some slack. It's the stupid media which makes too much of such protests. I'm convinced that a lot of journalists are just as immature as these students.

On Tuesday night/Wednesday morning the Canadian Immigration website broke because of too much traffic - 200,000 hits mostly from American IPs. Much worse than the Brexit spike. Interesting times.

I read this earlier and thought it was worth posting here in light of the events this week.

I've not been on a train for a while.

Re: The Politics Thread
I didn't vote for Brexit and I wouldn't have voted for Trump (though I'm dubious of anyone who would say they'd actually want to vote for Clinton), but I don't think it's hard to see why they won.
There are more than enough non-racist, non-misogynist, non-xenophobic people in both countries for Remain/Clinton to have won handily, but they did a terrible job of making a positive case as to why anyone should vote for them. There are 10 million American's who voted for Obama who didn't vote for Hillary.
But it doesn't look like it'll change, the left's key arguement will remain callong everyone on the other side a Nazi, and they'll continue to lose.

That's their view and you slag it off! All the hateful messages come from your leftie liberal mates who cry, I mean come on, fcuking cry over an election then wonder why they get labelled sheep and snowflakes.
You and most of your views are fast becoming untenable, face facts maybe a priesthood is calling you, at least people will listen and be polite to you even though you are an irrelevance.

Look, poppet, you need to grow up a bit and accept that everything in the world doesn't go your way, and not everyone thinks like you and stomping around about someone you consider to be horrible demonstrates that you are even more horrible.BWFC_Insane wrote: Yes. I don't give a shit if this upsets people. But it is frightening that people with these views still exist. Nobody has rammed anything down anyone's throats.
All these people who are so keen on sexism, on the repression of those with different sexualities and of a stamping out of political correctness (for PC we can read being a decent human being a not a total tw*t) there are many places in the world you may like. Saudi Arabia for one. That would suit the sort of bigotry and hatred that gets spouted from the likes of that commenter. And you'd not have to worry about LGBT or having to treat women as equals.

Re: The Politics Thread
I don't think that analysis is entirely on the money. You are correct that Obama was a far more inspiring candidate than Hilary, but Obama is probably the most inspiring politician in 50 or more years anywhere in the world. Certainly in terms of relating to the voting populous.Tombwfc wrote:I didn't vote for Brexit and I wouldn't have voted for Trump (though I'm dubious of anyone who would say they'd actually want to vote for Clinton), but I don't think it's hard to see why they won.

I'm not sure Hilary was guilty of just dismissing Trump supporters as racists, I think she had the issue of being tarred by association with the current regime and those who were dissatisfied with their lives hadn't got an inspirational figure to help inspire them again.
The American left (calling it the left in general is misleading) rather than in Britain have the issue of some wanting to lurch to the more extreme left side and that leads to a split amongst Democrat supporters and I suspect that is more telling in the final analysis of those lost democrat votes.
Ultimately though, Clinton received more votes, it is just that those Midwest states that usually are democrat if the Democrats will win had more disaffected white male voters in that she couldn't speak to. And those were ultimately the crucial states.

Hang on a minute. The election was rigged according to Trump right up until the point he won. Previously he had called for people to march on Washington when Obama won.Hoboh wrote:Look, poppet, you need to grow up a bit and accept that everything in the world doesn't go your way, and not everyone thinks like you and stomping around about someone you consider to be horrible demonstrates that you are even more horrible.BWFC_Insane wrote: Yes. The man constantly has meltdowns on social media.
I am not suggesting anything other than I'm proud to not be hateful. To not have views against those of different genders, races and sexualities. I'm proud to believe in fairness and equality.
I really don't give a shit what you think or anyone else for that matter. I know what is right and wrong and I also know the politics of hate and isolation will win sometimes. But history tells us that they always, always eventually beaten by inclusiveness and fairness and community. I'm very happy with that. You seem to be the one angry about people expressing their views.

I'm not angry, I find it hilarious little girls and boys still living, in the main, off mummy and daddy seem to know how the world works and waving their banners, crying and chanting will put everything right.
Oh aye, tell us when this ever happened then? Because, see, I can only ever find a history of conflict in one form or another throughout time. But history tells us that they always, always eventually beaten by inclusiveness and fairness and community.
Look around the world, the very poor parts are the worst offenders in terms of intolerance, Tribe v tribe, religious sect v religious sect, where is this mythical utopia?
