Re: The Politics Thread
Does he say what he's thinking or does he play a carefully engineered role, saying what he thinks his potential voters want him to say?Harry Genshaw wrote:Dozy buggers will vote for the daft get because like it or not he does say what's he's thinking. As scary as that may be for some it's a refreshing change from many evasive mealy mouthed politicians. See Theresa May with Andrew Marr this morning. It was Michael Howard all over again
Ultimately if that is what he's thinking then he's a racist, rape endorsing tool.
If it isn't he's a dangerous, calculated, hate inducing liar.
Either way, it isn't good. Any suggestion that it's better than being 'mealy mouthed' is absolute bollocks.
Describing politicians as mealy mouthed against this backdrop is somewhat reflective of madness. It's just that whilst most politicians are disingenuous slippery careerists, they aren't generally regressive, thick skilled, knuckle dragging in bred mutants.
There is a massive difference. They will say, not say a lot if they think it improves their career. May be shit. But at least they aren't intent on a very dangerous game of appealing to the most vile ans ultimately potentially explosive characteristics of society.

For clarification;
Personally, I think he is a racist, rape inducing tool and lots more besides.
Like it or not. Politicians being as ridiculously evasive as May was this morning, answering all sorts of questions except the one asked of her, just increases the appeal of those who appear to shoot first and think of the consequences later.

It's ok to speak your mind so long as you are a right wing, semi racist, backwards knuckle dragging dog licker then? That appears to be the bottom line.

Brown was making what he thought was a private comment in a car. Not answering Andrew Marr on the telly!
Trump is a bell end but like it or not he had enough appeal to get the world's top job. I'm as sure as you are that he's not the answer to anyone's problems but it's not difficult to see his appeal to communities who feel ignored by the mainstream

I don't like making excuses for bellends. There isn't an excuse for voting Trump. There is more than enough history from the last century for the human race to have learned its lessons. Even the fact the majority of Americans have never left the state they were born in doesn't excuse anything.
Making excuses, and blaming other politicians is as bad as those on the right who previously mocked Trump now trying to legitimise him as they cling to his coattails and hope his effect will rub off on them.
The reason communities in this country and the USA feel ignored is not because May, won't come out and say she doesn't give a shit about them anymore than Thatcher wouldn't. Or because Hilary didn't tell people she liked to 'grab cock'. It's because of the very, rampant free market economics, that led to Trump amassing his fortune. There is no rowing back from decades and decades of that policy dominating. The increasing globalisation of markets and trade has simply brought that to a head. But no politician can really restore many of those 'left behind' communities without some pretty major issues arising.
Re: The Politics Thread
And they are coming to a head, the decades you describe have been awful for large parts of the community worldwide, no coincidence that the 'progressive' thought control brigade have also been in the ascendency as well with their well meaning push to support others before sorting local problems out first.BWFC_Insane wrote:I don't like making excuses for bellends. Trump should know better and I'm not sure if he genuinely cannot help himself or if he is deliberately being the way he is, either way all the kicking and screaming is going to make little difference when the populace is split firmly down the middle.
What I find strange is all these marches to denounce Trump around the world and the UK yet far more dangerous folk like the fundamentalists and Saudi's etc. are not filling the streets with protests, Trump will be gone in four years, the Saudi's and what's left of ISIS won't.
I'd be asking some serious questions about people who allowed Corbyn and his cohorts to hijack labour, the folk who chuck their money into Unite to prop up the king maker for example, maybe they should take some responsibility for the way the world is going.

Sorry, so just to carify then as we brush over yet another despicable act by that odious shithead, but his mocking of the disabled wasn't in fact a liberal conspiracy, but an actual occurrence?

Re: The Politics Thread
Trump (and Corbyn) doesn't say what he "thinks", he says what he feels. Apparently this is something to be admired.
I'd much rather have somebody who is considered and has come to a properly-formed opinion on issues that are almost always difficult, rather than a bar-room-reckon.
Yes, it's annoying when politicians don't answer straight questions, but anyone who not only expected, but wanted Theresa May to suddenly start discussing national security over a croissant with Andrew Marr on BBC1 wants to give their head a shake.

It's not all downside. We don't have to beat around the bush anymore picking words carefully. Some thick fcukwit can be called a thick fcukwit with impunity. Best bit of all, it doesn't even need to be true anymore!

Not quite Doc. My point was the harm done to the aims of supposedly peaceful protests by clowns in masks, shxt-stirrers, and those just out to cause touble and aggro. The protests tend to lose their feasibility when a woman carrying a placard is regarded the same value as a thug in a ski-mask doing the same thing. That was my comment.Dr Hotdog wrote:It felt good to all involved, and that's what matters.Bruce Rioja wrote:As much as folk turning up in Manchester to protest will. Are you watching, Donald Trump? Re: The Politics Thread
Yeah, but you can't account for everyone and their behaviour. For example the screw-loose BWFC fan(s) who shout "MUNICH SCUM" every 30 seconds during our matches against Manchester United in days (long) gone by.TANGODANCER wrote:Not quite Doc. I'm not sure these worldwide women's marches lose any credibility because footage of one masked dude sucker-punching a nazi on TV went viral.
I don't really have the time to properly engage in this sort of discourse. All I know is I went on Saturday, and it felt good to be a part of it. That is all I can do. That and show up on polling day.

National security my ass, embarrassment and cover up more like.
Takes longer to find out when the calm and measured sorts are lying and the lies are usually worse.

Ah well each to their own although I never realised folk went to Manchester of their own free will.

Go on move the agenda to suit, what other despicable acts? There has been plenty of lads talk the world over, even on here, I hope that doesn't signal a hoard of man hating feminists to storm on here or march around the world!
You hate Trump, I get that not over keen myself but I reckon you'd be hating Saint Paul if he wasn't a Liberal lefty progressive spunking over the EU (and pics of Merkel)

Bragging about sexually assaulting women is now "lads talk"?Who exactly was making fun of the disabled?
Oh hang on, more liberal progressives getting their knickers in a twist over invented sleights.

So not wanting division. Not wanting abuse. Not wanting women talked of (or bragged of) being sexually assaulted. Not wanting to mock the disabled. Not wanting to isolate people against each other. Not wanting hatred to rule.Hoboh wrote: You of course were there and heard the whole thing didn't you?
