Listening to this Pfizer committee hearing. MPs using it as a fecking stage and not bothering to ask actually good questions.

Example.

"Can you guarantee that, if you bought AZ, that you wouldn't sell off parts of the company in the future?"

Er, feckin no?

As long as they didn't use the 'word' optionality again I don't care. :vomit:

what is it that you know about Fatou Bensouda that calls into question her reliability?

Not angry, more unhappy. They finally corralled me into the doctors surgery for "tests" and for the first time in my life I'm half a stone overweight! Blood pressure was fine, blood tests awaiting Dr Quatermass analysis , but horror of horrors, a 37in waist! Not enamoured with this growing old lark. :(

The other day I was quite happy with everything and was about to write a text to someone. In thinking about what I was going to put a red mist descended out of nowhere. After a few minutes of snowballing rage I was too angry to do anything so I went out for a walk.

Is this what growing old is like?

Today I woke up to three angry e-mails out-of-the-blue, three people writing to me because one person had flipped out. I had to spend all day correcting the irrational statements from flipped out person. I think they are fully aware of what it's like to get old, and at least I know what's in store!

You chose to give up the fags, TANGO, so you can't blame anyone else.

As far as the test results are concerned I assume that no news is good news. It's a few years since I last visited a doctor. No one from the good doctor's crew bothered to 'phone me with a "Please come in and have a chat" message so I assumed that all was fine. As far as I know it was. This was a full 'annual' check involving blood, blood pressure, faeces, ECG (a trip to the specialist) and a couple of other things I cannot even recall. Fortunately the dreaded gloved finger was not part of the regime.

How does it work in your neck of the woods? By that I mean is a doctor obliged to contact you when results arrive?

Dunno Dujon. I have an appointment next week for a suspected hernia (oh joy) and the doc will give me the blood test results then. I'm not a regular act at the surgery (I must have one of the thinnest files on record) so I'll be glad when the current spat is over.

ps. I blame the cigarette shortage for the weight increase, but I've cracked it now (13 months) although I did gaze longingly at a bloke smoking a pipe ( a very rare sight) this morning. I can state with certainty I'll never go back to cigs. I won that battle.

They might be obliged to, but they fecking don't.

Weeks and weeks no results for my ECG. Go back to the docs in the meantime, we'll write to you about an appointment for a 24 hour ECG, then they don't write. We'll also write to you separately about a minor surgical thing you need doing, and then don't.

And yes, they do have my address right, because I had to get them to change it last time when they were posting stuff to my old address even though I'd changed it once.

Ha, that's a cheering thought.

Although whilst you're here, and whilst we're in the angry thread, can you explain what the difference between 'actioning' and 'doing' is :whack:?!

Doing is actually a word, that's the main difference.

So, when a boss some years ago asked (told) me to "action a preso" that afternoon and I politely declined (I think I laughed and told him to fckg speak English) but said I'd be happy to "deliver a presentation" ..... you think I had a point ???

Dentist / My teeth. And so the saga rubles on. Went in to have a cracked filling renewed this morning (this is aside from the repeat of the hosptalised surgery that I'm so looking forward to). Puts in a new filling - which immediately cracks as well. Now I have to have two more procedures to put a gold filling in and I'm £200 the lighter.

One of my grandparents once told me of a time when people would have all their teeth pulled out as a 21st Birthday present so they didn't have a lifetime of hassle with them. I think I got a watch.

I've got that joy to look forward to next week. 2 wisdom teeth are impacted and piling the pressure on my other gnashers. I'm due in next week. Sacred about the pain and terrified of the cost
