What are you watching tonight?

I believe I'm in for a treat but the first ep wasn't as gripping as I remember the first ep of the Sopranos being.

In fact I tried watching this once before, about five or six years ago, and there was far too much futhermuckering in it for me but we'll persevere this time around.
i believe i posted the exact same thing, but stick with it - it is fkkin excellent!

im about half way through season 3 myself - but im gonna throw this out there... Soprano's is better!

I feel so torn here - I set off wth The Wire thinking there couldn't be any better TV than Sopranos. And found that confidence ebbing away. Somewhere above you'll find my response to the final two hour episode of Series 5 - feature length and magnificent.

Two great sustained pieces of TV story telling and, over the five series, I think The Wire the more ambitious.

Well, the discounted DVDs are all here so I thought I'd make a start on them with In Bruges.

In short, it alone was worth the money that I paid for all of them. Absolutey brilliant. It took me 20 minutes longer to watch it than it should've for all the times that I had to pause it to stop myself laughing. Takes you to some pretty dark places too, mind, as well as some of those I'm-not-so-sure-I-should-be-finding-this-bit-as-funny-as-I-am places too.

Yeah - the Martin Mcdonagh fan club spreads - don't miss his theatre work either if you get the chance. It's the same macabre comedy that has you lauging then going... wtf am I laughing at that for!

Can't believe The Wire has finished on BBC, big hole in my evenings now - what am I supposed to do - go to bed at 1120?

Best tv series I've ever watched though. Sopranos 2nd, first series of Twin Peaks 3rd ;)

seconded - the tattoo and the brown stained pants were truly horrific - yet strangely amusing!

The Octagon tonight - first night of what looks like a brilliant season. The play - MIXED UP NORTH - is based on interviews in Burnley, home to several BNP councillors and a BNP Euro MP.

It deals with racial tension among the youth there. I expect it to be funny with a touch of savagery - those who have been to Turf Moor will know where I'm coming from...

QUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!

Do I watch:

1) Match of the Day and The Football League Show, two shows of football one after the other, safe in the knowledege that I'll see a Bolton in, yet knowing I'll watch us win when on Kebabling duty in the morning, or

2) Sin City, a film I've wanted to watch for a while, but never had the chance. I've not seen many reviews, and the few I've seen have been as praising as they have been dismissive

I have 25 minutes to decide. Go.

Sin City, then MOTD2 tomorrow and see the goals minus the irritating pundit 'analysis'.

Love that film.

Elijah

I'm restricting myself to this mainly, seems my existence offends some over 'there'!

Anyway, enjoy the film, it really is superb - come on here and tell me what you think of Kevin (you'll see).

Watched Requiem for a Dream last night. Fookin' fantstic film and shot in a way that I've never seen before. Every scene just drags you in more and more. Unbelievable music score as well.

Darren Aronofsky is a fantastic director (and he's married to that Rachel Weisz piece too), if you can I recommend you find a film of his called 'Pi' (well it isn't called that, it's the little symbol for the old 3.147 business) - it's really good.

Avoid The Fountain though.

What a film. Problem - I missed out on Kevin, on account of my daughter waking up and having to be put back to bed. One of the best, though....never thought I'd consider Clive Owen a great action hero.

I was just about to look up more of his stuff, so many thanks for the heads up.
