Given that updating to ios9 at the weekend completely kippered my mate's phone I'd say heed their advice!Bruce Rioja wrote:Just had this from our IT bods in the US.
Now, our lot are renowned panic fannies, but does this sound about right to anyone else?
When you see that the update ios9 is available on your iPad or IPhone we recommend that you wait for a few weeks until they sort out the initial issues that are occurring or you may find that your device may behave erratically including taking your device completely out of service. We will let you know when there is a stable version that is safe to download.

Re: Technology Thread.
I need to buy a laptop on which to do my uni assignments. They start at just over 200 quid, but ms office is now £115 quid! Are there any usable alternatives??

Word is absolutely fine. There's one function on one excel spreadsheet that didn't work. That's the only problem I've had.

Libre Office is excellent. You have a range of options for saving docs that are MS friendly. I've never had an issue with compatibility.

HELP!!!!
I've no idea what I've done here but the display on the screen on my laptop has turned 'sideways on'.
How do I get it back the right way up?

Wife has a laptop and looked the problem up on Google. This was their solution: Try holding Control and Alt keys down and pressing the ^ arrow or the < or > ones. If nothing works you might have to restore your system to a previous date. Hope this helps.Bruce Rioja wrote:HELP!!!!

Go into control panel, display then resolution. There is a drop down half way down the page. You might have to cock your head sidewaysBruce Rioja wrote:HELP!!!!

Cheers Tango. As it happened I had to nip down to PC World anyway and asked them down there. That's exactly what they told me to do and it worked a treat, but many thanks anyway.TANGODANCER wrote:Wife has a laptop and looked the problem up on Google. I just haven't a clue how I managed to turn it sideways on in the first place though.

My cats like to run over/jump on/lie on my keyboard and flip my screen all the time. No idea how. They manage a multitude of other nonsense too Why the feck someone thinks I'd need to flip my screen so often that'd I'd need a keyboard short cut for itBruce Rioja wrote: I just haven't a clue how I managed to turn it sideways on in the first place though.
