Caught my attention. Read the book and seen the film and am currently reading The Gods of Guilt, another Mickey Haller (the Lincoln Lawyer). Good stuff, but it's by Michael Connelly so it will be.General Mannerheim wrote:damn straight. they call it the Matthew McConaissance!
Lincoln Lawyer , Killer Joe , Mud, Magic Mike, Dallas Buyers Club, little appearence in Wolf of Wall Street and also the TV show True Detective! all ace films and performances! he's the geezer atm!

^ No spoilers! I can't believe it but we still need to finish this one. We have five left to watch and stopped watching when the world cup began.

Saw Interstellar yesterday, not sure what to make of it really. The sort of thing you'd expect from Nolan, saw the twist coming but ultimately it was all a bit paradoxical and didn't make much sense. Enjoyable enough though.

I saw The Imitation Game in Cineworld yesterday.
A tremendous film. Great script. Very, very good acting.
Very British film - clear story telling, centred acting, no tricks - almost theatrical.
I felt the treatment of Turing's homosexuality, and the price he paid for it, was handled a little too coyly. And this was a shame.
but that's pretty much my only reservation.

American Hustle. Absolutely superb story, cast, acting and soundtrack. And how on earth did I get this far in life without stumbling upon Amy Adams?

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Just tonight saw End of Watch with Gillenhaal and Michael Pen~a. One very violent L.A.P.D.film. Don't think I've ever watched a film where the words Fxck and Mxxxx FxckerKeyserSoze wrote:Gyllenhall's been hitting...something to prepare for his new film

(how I detest that expression) make up about thirty percent of the dialogue. Very well acted and realistic record of drug gangs and violence in Los Angeles.

Actually, it's the first film I've ever watched with him in it in which he didn't annoy me (much).

love End of Watch. was one of my faves that year. 326 f ucks, thats 2.99 f ucks per minute! its the 7th highest in the list of films with the most uses of f uck
American Hustle is great too, im surprised you have been denied the beauty of Amy Adams so long. ive been having improper thoughts about her for ages, although she didnt really emerge till quite late. shes the one reason i put up with a constant stream of The Muppets at home!

And an the back of last night's splendid viewing, this evening will find me taking on that Russell Brand film I've been lent. My expectations aren't high.

Ah, I think I've seen Night at the Museum 2, on a flight. Wasn't she playing Amy Johnson?
Anyway, didn't end up watching that Russell Brand thing in the end last night (worked late and west to Asda in preference).
LF have just informed me that they're sending me The Grand Budapest Hotel, which I'm looking forward to.
