I think this probably deserves a large "woosh"TANGODANCER wrote:Hey, that's nothing. Tom Cruise met an agent who talked him into being six-feet five and eighteen stone. It's a Jack Reacher reference.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Well, some may be aware that I'm patient, to the point of enjoyment, with slow moving subtitled dramas in foreign languages - but Norte (from the Phillipines - loosely, very loosely, based on Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishmenmt) lasted 25 minutes before we switched off in a state of terminal boredom.
We followed this with a Mexican film called Silent Light which was so static that two snails had completed the Grand National before anything interesting had happened.
Fortunately at 8.00pm BBC 4 (the essential earth bound channel) had an hour long documentary about the origins and achievements of Viennese Art Nouveau, allowing me to relive for an hour the artistic joys of Vienna that I and friends had investigated last month, and giving my wife a foretaste of the visit we are planning for the next wedding anniversary in March.
Looking forward to that!

I should perhaps edit to add that this refers to a certain Count, who is back on BBC1 early in the new year

Unashamedly watching the final of the tinsel, tan and glitter show (Strictly Come Dancing) tonight. Want that Mark fella to get knocked out and not be in the final three. Not really bothered who wins since Jake got knocked out. Frankie Bridge, maybe? Take your partners.....

Just watched The Grand Budapest Hotel - loved it. I even laughed aloud quite a few times. What a wonderful actor Ralph Fiennes is. I used to work for his Uncle Gerard. A fine old buffer of a gentleman who I never saw without cravat and rarely saw without drink.
May the bridges I burn light your way

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Watched 2 completely different films last night - "Her" which i think has been previously recommended on here, bizarre film but absolute class acting made it a fantastic viewing.
Then watched "a million ways to die in the west" and have to say found it absolutely hilarious

Going to pass some time till the midnight hour by watching Skyfall. Seen it once but I think I can suffer at again. Highly preferable to the wife's Christmas eve soap offerings.
