was amazing. was also delighted to learn the trains destination was Bourg-st-Maurice as i was literally driving through the town on way to Chambery!Bruce Rioja wrote:Just watched last night's 1st episode of the 2nd series of Inside No. 9. Utterly brilliant.
Also saw The Drop with Jim Gandolfini and Tom Hardy. id swerved it at the flicks because despite the cast it had a bit of a rough time critically but i enjoyed it, solid film.

Me too on Inside No 9. a couple of genuine LOL moments. They've still not matched the yardstick of A Quiet Night In yet, though...General Mannerheim wrote:was amazing. was also delighted to learn the trains destination was Bourg-st-Maurice as i was literally driving through the town on way to Chambery!Bruce Rioja wrote:Just watched last night's 1st episode of the 2nd series of Inside No. 9. I'll wait till you're thoroughly enthralled .... and then tell you the ending.TANGODANCER wrote:The Ark.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Finally got round to watching this. A very decent film indeed and well worth watching. I've warmed to Di Caprio as an actor hugely over the past year or so. I'd rather ashamedly dismissed him as being little more than a pretty boy until I saw him in The Great Gatsby. A tremendous actor.TANGODANCER wrote:Watched "Body of Lies". Thought it pretty decent although I always have trouble seeing Di Caprio as a hard-man character. The lad can act though.

Not got Sky, not much on tonight, so, okay, laugh if you wish, I watched Pretty Woman for about the fourth time (two or three years since last). Harmless enjoyable film with a cracking sound track and Julie Roberts at her absolute best. Yeah, I enjoyed it.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Today, not tonight, I just watched David Suchet's "In the steps of St Peter". One of the best documentaries I've seen on this subject. I'd recommend it for an hour of good watching. Logical, unsensational and yet respectful and believable. I'm definitely in for Part II on Sunday (or catch up on player)

Is it just me that was hoping for a bit of decent television on a Good Friday?

Just watched last night's Inside No. 9. How on earth do they think these up? Absolutely brilliant, as ever. Really sad ending though.

It's turning out to be a good series Tango. You can only imagine what a bunch of B*****ds the soldiers were in real life.
I saw an interview with the fella with the sticky out ears the other week. He was saying how all the outdoor shots were filmed on location in Australia and all indoor shots filmed in Manchester. The actors have a monitor to look at if they are going from outside in, or vice versa, for continuity. 'Letters' Molloy looks like my old woodwork teacher

Can't imagine it was much fun for the soldiers either, they just had to follow orders. A hundred of them to police a thousand convicts and one woman to five blokes ratio. What food they could catch and years to look at for some of them. Grim. No wonder they want to win the test matches.Il Pirate wrote:TANGODANCER wrote:Just caught up on Part V of Banished.. Watching the 60 year anniversary of Eurovision. Great stuff. I probably need to go to the match tomorrow though, or strip a carburettor or something

Had a Jason Statham night last night. Blitz, with the excellent Paddy Consadine and Aiden Gillan (which I first saw some while back) and Hummingbird, which I hadn't seen. Pretty good both. I like Statham.
