Hadn't seen Ben Affleck's Argo. Just did. Tense, supposedly based on a true story and well worth a watch .

Very good, Affleck is maligned by many but has come up with some good stuff recently.TANGODANCER wrote:Hadn't seen Ben Affleck's Argo. Just did. Tense, supposedly based on a true story and well worth a watch .

Animal House, hilarious and massively influential. John Belushi was a sad loss in his early 30s.

My favourite film stars John Belushi. Love Animal House but Blues Brothers is better.

Really enjoyed it. As LE says - Ben Affleck is much maligned. I have him down as a fine actor.

I'm one of those who malign! He's usually dire. Argo is decent enough, though didn't live up to the hype for me. Good, but not ohemgee amazing.

Have you ever seen Daredevil?
Oh dear.
Re: What are you watching tonight?
No, nor Gigli, which is said by some to be the worst film ever.Gary the Enfield wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Argo feck yourselfTANGODANCER wrote:Hadn't seen Ben Affleck's Argo. Just did. Tense, supposedly based on a true story and well worth a watch .

I thought he was good in Boiler Room, which I saw a long time ago, but then again I did see Reindeer Games

He's not a great actor, but certainly isn't half as bad as some claim. He appears to have more potential as a filmmaker, if The Town and Argo are anything to go by.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Not absolutely sure, I'll have to ponder it, but I think I might have just watched the worst Western film ever made.
Prey for Death (note the text, because there's another film with the eclesiastical spelling of pray) . Sounds terrible, looks terrible.....is terrible. So bad I just had to watch it through. Shocking script, unbelievable plot and awful acting. Oh, the scenery is quite stunning, but don't even let the naked woman get you there. If you're foolish enough, just don't say you weren't warned....

For a guy who apparently has been unfairly maligned, he's been shite in a lot of shite films!

FINE! I'm going to change 'unfairly maligned' to 'not given credit where it's due'.Prufrock wrote:For a guy who apparently has been unfairly maligned, he's been shite in a lot of shite films!

Re-watched L'Homme du Train.
Still not sure about the ending, and Johnny Halliday is pants, but Jean Rochfort is mint!

Watched The Good Shepherd a 2006 C.I.A based film with Matt Damon in the lead role. If you haven't seen it, a very decent film.

Watched Django Unchained. Apart from the needless schmaltzy bits I thought that it was absolutely superb.
