What are you eating and drinking tonight?

Fancy that Las Iguanas, they are all over apparently but its either Deansgate (manc) or the Trafford Centre for me. the menu looks champion - anyone tried it???
General. A few of us from work went to the Chinese above The Co-op in Totty, last night. All of us left very impressed with both the nose bag and the service.

Didn't know whether this should go in here, or in WAYW. I have just recovered from TUESDAY night's Withnail & I, drinking game session. CHHHHHHRRRRIIIIST. I shan't be drinking anything for a while.

Did you cheat with the lighter fluid bit? :P

Tonight I will probably be having mackerel with a bit of salad and cheese. What does mackerel taste like? Never had it before.

Of course we cheated, we're not MENTAL. That shit can make you go blind (I think). Instead we had to drink a shot of our least favourite shot-y thing, vodka in my case, and half a shot each of vinegar and lemon juice, all out of a double shot glass. The concotion was stirred using a broken cigarette and thus had bits of tobacco in. Truly foul.

Mackeral is lovely. I'm not very good at describing food. It's like fish, and nice. Boney though.

Last night for me was a tuna steak slapped in a pan with sesame oil, lime, chilli and ginger with a big salad. Had cricket training after that before heading to a mates for the Apprentice Drinking Game. Great night!

Just back from a 13 hour straight shift and back in tomorrow for eight so it's as much Strongbow as I can reasonably get away with and still get up. Then maybe a sausage butty in a bit if I can be arsed.

I'm just posting this (deny it's authenticity as much as you like) so as you'll be ever so embarrassed, Verbal, when you next log in.

There are only two good points about your post, cobber, and they are that you were up-front with your admission and that you didn't try the wet-and-dry trick on your mate's carpet. :pissed:

Fair play. My Friday evening took a similar course having been drinking from 11am at Aintree. The Wanderers were a suitable hang over cure yesterday though!

Oh my

Well, if anything good came of that night it is the knowledge that a) I should never post when drunk and b) I'm not drinking red wine mixed with lager ever again.

As for the pizza...it was very nice :) however, half an hour later it became involved in an altercation with my stomach. As such, the pizza was removed from the premises of My Body from whence it came, into said friend's toilet

Sorry, William, I'd missed this. One of my favourites. Really rich in fruit flavours and exceptionally smooth. One of those whereby you immediately know where your extra couple of Quid have gone. That is presuming, if you'll allow, that you don't buy at the dearer end for a nowt special weekend night in.
If you've not clocked this already, morrison's has a 2004 reserva on half price offer - about £5.50 - tried tonight with pasta... nice... very... :D

A poncey-sounding goat cheese and rocket risotto and some Argentine Shiraz, a slight cut above the Garibaldis and Malbec of last night.

and the co-op has a 2003 reserva at £4.95...

Also nice...

and is rioja declaring a reserva every year? Cos, if they are, that certainly diminishes the denominacion...

Indian tonight - and fantastic. From the deli newly opened at House of Rajah at the bottom of Derby St. It's all veggie (I'm not - omnivorous with a preference for fish over meat) and outstanding. We bought a real variety of curries, some in sauce, others not - aubergine, paneer, paneer and spinach and a dumpling curry that just sizzled the mouth, so fiery you were almost weeping as you reached for the next bite. Also - this was totally new to me - a stuffed green chilli - huge - with mash potato inside and baked... incredible. Chappatis plain and spiced, three of each... three veggie samosas... Came to £12.75 and fed three easily...

Red wine, obviously, to cope with the spices... was a Sicilian shiraz/viognier and good, and just about able to stand up to all, including the mad dumplings invented in hell... Recommend to all living in Bolton... :D :D :D

Just went out for a nice lunch with some school friends for a catch up being back home for Easter now. Had a lovely crayfish salad, and who did I bump into on the way out as he was coming in? Zinedine McCann. Made my day that did!
