Yep, well worth watching and this mini-series is right up there so far. I'm not quite convinced about Alice yet.Bruce Rioja wrote:Oh right. Cheers, General - I'll stick it on the list.General Mannerheim wrote:yep 3 series worth, im sure its been discussed loads on here. incredible tele!!

Watched Luther last night. Very well written as always and Elba is perfectly cast.

Watched "The Hateful 8", too be honest, it's a bit Meh!!! Some really good scenes, but too much of Tarantino being up his own arse and dragging things out far too long and at almost 3 hrs, it was a bit of a slog watching it. Samuel L is first class though.

It's on Vodlocker on Kodi. Absolutely perfect picture and sound.General Mannerheim wrote:is there a decent stream knocking about?wigan white wrote:Watched "The Hateful 8", too be honest, it's a bit Meh!!! I've never been a big Tarantino fan but this one intrigues me enough to put my prejudices aside and actually go and watch this one. More exciting to see Joy and Sisters though.General Mannerheim wrote:is there a decent stream knocking about?wigan white wrote:Watched "The Hateful 8", too be honest, it's a bit Meh!!! Saw Star Wars on Saturday, I'm not a big fan to begin with, but I thought story wise it was a bit shite to be honest. The performances were good, and technically a lot better than the last three. But I thought they played it really safe and I was rather disappointed.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
As part of my mission to watch everything ever written/directed by Mike Leigh I've just watched High Hopes - possibly my least favourite so far. The story is a perfectly plausible one of social division in Thatcher's Britain and the differing values of individuals within the same families and same neighbourhoods.
The problem is that, with the notable exception of the Mother character played by Edna Dore, all of the remaining characters are so far blown out of all proportion that they are unbelievable to such a point that they have a negative effect on the credibility of the central theme.
The salt of the earth Marxist main couple.
The horrendous social-climber sister with her philandering spiv of a second hand car salesman husband.
The massively overdone snobbishness and selfishness of the upper middle class neighbours.
Shame really. Had Leigh wound the necks in of the characters then I honestly think that the film would have been excellent.

Over the course of the past few days I've re-watched both series of Phoenix Nights. Utterly superb.
