The most excellent Steve Jobs. Had this downloaded on showbox for a while but kindda been putting it off as i wasnt sure i really fancied it... Turned out to easily be my favourite film of the award season nominated bunch, even tho it was out ages ago. Great film

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Watched that tonight. Massively impressed with Tom Hardy in the dual role. What a pair of nutters, especially Ronnie Kray, a real psycho. Hardy's performance alone is well worth watching this for. Recommend.clapton is god wrote:Watched Legend last night, the Kray film with Tom Hardy playing both Reggie and Ronnie.
Good stuff, I thought, and Hardy really nailed both parts. As you might expect there was some measure of violence but it wasn't over the top stuff except for one horrible scene in a pub and then the killing of Jack The Hat, which was a bit intense.

Awesome?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

You may well be right but I can't for the life of me see how.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Got to see Revenant today. If it doesn't win a shed load of Oscars, I'll be amazed. Brilliant acting, fantastic cinematography and incredible effects. Loved it.

Had a second watch of The Imitation Game. Seen it previously but it's so good that a second watch was always on. Benedict Cumberbatch is staggeringly good and well backed by Kiera Knightley, Mark Strong and Charles Dance. Brilliant film about Bletchley Park, the Enigma code machine and Alan Turing's tragic genius. Did I say Cumberbatch was good? A massive understement, he was incredible.

99 Homes. I dont remember putting it on my watchlist but saw it there and decided i must've read a decent review or something plus Michael Shannon is in it so gave it a go. was a wise move, its a quality film. focusing on a realtor who evicts people from their home during the american housing crash. uncomfortable to watch at times, real life at its most terrifying, a true sweaty palmer!

Aye, watched that at the cinema a few months ago when I had a few hours to kill in London without knowing anything about it. Very much like the real estate version of wall street.General Mannerheim wrote:99 Homes. Cumberbatch was great, Dance was great, Knightly was as wooden as only she can be.TANGODANCER wrote:Had a second watch of The Imitation Game. I'm also a big Mark Strong fan having seen him in so many different roles and always good.Bijou Bob wrote:Cumberbatch was great, Dance was great, Knightly was as wooden as only she can be.TANGODANCER wrote:Had a second watch of The Imitation Game. Re: What are you watching tonight?
Unexpected afternoon off so went to the Odeon at the Trafford Centre where we watched The Big Short.
Excellent film that dramatised the 2008 crash in a way I could (mostly) understand. Absolutely frightening what was going on and they saved the most frightening thing of all to the very end of the film.
