They've just expounded my theory on Masterchef once again. That is: whenever there's a pretty girl on it she could offer up cheese on toast as representing the absolute limit of her culinary capabilities, and still go through!

And rightly so Bruce. We don't have to eat the shite that they serve up, so we can at least have a perv!!

I'm in bits, that was so so sad.
yeah saw it myself a few weeks back - very powerful! if only they had spoken in German, or at least had German accents rather than quintessential English!
if you don't know already would like to recommend Au Revoir, Mes Enfants - Louis Malle, I think, the director. again, the holocaust through children's eyes - at a catholic boarding school in occupied France a young Jewish boy is given shelter... don't want to say any more in case you see it... Heartbreaking... and I know you guys are not afraid of subtitles...

Great film. We watched it at school for French. Takes a lot to move an entire group of rowdy 15 year old boys, especially when not quite understanding everything, but it's a very powerful film.

I watched that. It was pretty incredible. The time it took to get up them was amazing. 92 minutes to get up the Petronas Towers!? No idea how he managed the overhanging dome at the top after all that climbing.

another night at the Octagon which is transforming itself into a real cultural powerhouse under the new director... this time to see a touring production in the studio theatre, but written by Bolton playwright, neil duffield - a young people's/family play about kids evacuated in the 2nd World war - complete with top hat n tails dance routines and astaire/rogers songs.

amazingly saw primary school kids gripped by these songs and dance, and a strong story of what it means to be young and taken away from your fanily... it's on till saturday - if you have 8 year olds and above to take you, go...

my 18 year old also thought it was great...

So what? It only took me eight minutes to get up the Petronas Towers.

I was in a lift though.

Rob Zombie?

His previous films weren't all that great - House of 1000 Corpses and the (almost identical) follow-up, The Devil's Rejects were basically second-rate Texas Chainsaw Massacres.

Not seen either of his Halloween remakes, though, so can't really comment on them.

Went this afternoon instead - possibly the worst film I have ever ever ever seen.

Avoid. Avoid like the plague.

Boring, cliched and stupid - no, not CAPSLOCK - this film. When you go and see a horror flick and spend more time laughing that jumping then you know something is wrong.

Shit shit shit.

Why remake a sh*t sequel in the first place?

Maybe its the film snob in me, but Halloween II really does mark the bottom of the barrel being scraped. Get ready for a 're-imagining' of Holiday on the Buses next.
