16 & 18 yr ild kids, plus Uni's are finished their exams now. there has to be some stray kids about who'd just love to do this.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I suggest taking the dog for a long walk, while leaving kids behind with various things thay can brighten up your fixtures and fittings with, like flour, paint, eggs, coal, that sort of thing.

Good thinking. I'll get Mr GG to raid the youthgroup he runs for volunteers, my only reservation is leaving inexperienced people in charge of my quite loopy dog...bobo the clown wrote:16 & 18 yr ild kids, plus Uni's are finished their exams now. there has to be some stray kids about who'd just love to do this.

Er, take the kids with you whilst you walk the dog GG??Gooner Girl wrote:Mr GG has to go to Switzerland on a business trip early next week probably. I'm already struggling with the logistics of this such as how the dog gets an evening walk when theres only one of me and i'm needed with the kids too. Huge kudos to all the single parents out there who manage that sort of stuff day in, day out.

I will for the morning walk but his later walk is usually when my 2 year olds are tucked up in bed. He'll just have to do without for a few days or i'll rope a neighbour in.Bijou Bob wrote:Er, take the kids with you whilst you walk the dog GG??Gooner Girl wrote:Mr GG has to go to Switzerland on a business trip early next week probably. Would it be really that bad to leave them unattended for an hour or so?
Assuming the answer is yes, you could spend a while playing with Paddy while the kids are in bed and teach him new tricks & obedience lessons. A good half hour of intellectual stimulation will knacker out most dogs sufficiently enough that they wont miss the one walk.

Erm yes it would be! But good idea, he's probably going to survive for a few days on less walks and it probably wouldnt take that much mental stimulation to wear him out, bless him.Harry Genshaw wrote:^

Re: General Chit Chat
Sad to hear today about the death of my neighbour and friends mum Mabel. She was 93 and had followed Stoke City home and away since the 1940's - including round Europe a few seasons ago. I met her once when I went up to watch Arsenal play Stoke with her daughter and she was a lovely lady and a passionate fan. She got knocked over at a game end of last season and suffered head injuries and hasn't been well since then. Died yesterday. Nice tribute from the club. I hope i'm following Arsenal home and away when i'm in my 90's. Seems an awesome way to spend your retirement.

Sorry to hear that, GG. You posted a link to a story about her a while back as I recall. Quite a remarkable lady.

It doesn't even say you need to be 18. Molson's are a Canadian brewer who started in Montreal. From time to time, including now, they have owned the Montreal Canadiens. They have been generous benefactors of the University where I spent my working life. Still, I never did like any of their beers except one premium brew. This was Bradpr and was 6.7% - Brador is still marketed but it is a timid imitation of its forbear. I never liked Coors (may have been influenced by dislike of the homophobic owner) so the thought of tasting Molsoncoors for nine hours a week does not appeal.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Somebody might fancy this...

Utterly stunned at a colleagues stupidity today. A 30 year old bloke who I thought was reasonably intelligent - I heard him asking another colleague how you spelt swastika. As she spelt it out to him he said "But in this case, it's a tattoo so is it a swas or a swastattoo"
We were both a bit unsure what he was going on about until I saw a light go on with him. He then said he'd always thought it was a 'Swas sticker' so was unsure what it was called when it wasn't in the form of a sticker. He was serious

Just saw Alan Davies on Liverpool Road. I can draw two conclusions from this experience: 1) There is no filming of QI going on at the moment. 2) Alan Davies dyes his hair.
