Similar thing happened to me a while back. I had a word at the barrier, they let me talk to the guard/ticket collector and I was allowed on the next train.General Mannerheim wrote:Been sat on a train outside London for 2hrs. Missed my connection to Manchester. Ticket booked ages ago for £33. To buy a replacement virgin want £235 plus £10 admin fee. This is making me quite angry.
Guess it's luck of the draw who's on duty though.

Similar thing just happened to me too. Just went to the ticket office and they honoured it with a stamp on the back. Phew. Just got on now, albeit an hour late - hurry up with that booze trolley!

.NEW ROUTE TO UK: SWEDEN WARNS MIGRANTS ARE TRYING TO SNEAK ON SHIPS FROM GOTHENBURG
Migrants hoping to reach Britain are now trying their luck on cargo ships from Sweden, it has emerged.
An increasing number of stowaways, many of them from Albania, have been found hiding at the port of Gothenburg.
More than 40 have been arrested in since May, but officials say it is likely some have made it through.
The port’s security chief Thomas Fransson told Swedish newswire TT: 'It’s a very big problem, we are not prepared for this.
'We have more than 4,000 vehicles coming in and out of the port every day and we cannot search them all.'
Sweden has a reputation for tolerance, but a long backlog of asylum seeker applications is apparently putting some migrants off staying in the country, it was reported by The Local.
Albania is a former communist state which has not yet been granted EU membership.
Albania, another war zone? poor down trodden migrants fleeing for their lives?

There's some great stats in there...
The country with the highest net inflow of immigrants 2004-2008 was Spain (about twice that of the UK) - these were probably comprised mainly of chavvy bastards from Essex going into "Marbs".
The EU country with the largest net outflow of nationals - 2000 - 2007? That'd be the UK....
In 2013 only Poland of the EU countries had a higher net outflow of domestic nationals than the UK.
The following EU countries have a higher percentage of foreign nationals than the UK....Belgium, Estonia, Ireland, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, Latvia, Luxembourg, Austria and Sweden...
Maybe we should close our borders and stop all these bloody immigrants leaving...
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I would imagine the majority of those 'bloody immigrants leaving' have the means to support them, and they are legal, a small point you seem to over look in your Euro love In reply!Worthy4England wrote:There is a research briefing paper here http://researchbriefings.files.parliame ... Not long now before the beloved leaders in Germany face pressure on their 'open borders policy', more so when the Greeks start handing out maps to the migrants of how to get to Europe's richest country

If you take the approach that they just stay put where they land, you just start to bankrupt more countries causing more people to want to migrate...Hoboh wrote:I would imagine the majority of those 'bloody immigrants leaving' have the means to support them, and they are legal, a small point you seem to over look in your Euro love In reply!Worthy4England wrote:There is a research briefing paper here http://researchbriefings.files.parliame ... Great long term policy thinking there Hobes.
Oh and I think you advocate cutting foreign aid budget too - which is yet another reason that they'd want to migrate...
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
The growing trend across Europe except in Italy and Greece is not to let them land anywhere.Worthy4England wrote:If you take the approach that they just stay put where they land, you just start to bankrupt more countries causing more people to want to migrate...Hoboh wrote:I would imagine the majority of those 'bloody immigrants leaving' have the means to support them, and they are legal, a small point you seem to over look in your Euro love In reply!Worthy4England wrote:There is a research briefing paper here http://researchbriefings.files.parliame ... I wouldn't have a problem if the glorious EU actually spent some of it's collective funds on safe havens outside it's borders instead of French peasant farmers and dodgy ex commie countries.

Another couple of goats and the odd sheep farmer the final round of the world cup in Val di Sole at the weekend. Brit's taking the overall in women's and juniors, and josh making the podium in the men's on his comeback season (smashed his foot in world champs last year) phenomenal that the Brit's are so dominant in this game and we hardly have any mountains! Shame they don't get the recognition.General Mannerheim wrote:Hoboh wrote:world cup downhill mountain biking has zero coverage anywhere
Given the large crowds and overwhelming interest in this, are you really that surprised?
A couple of goats, the odd sheep and farmer hardly count as a mass audience.
People ride bikes, a lot of people, but they just don't connect to a load of egotistical nut jobs throwing their selves down mountains

You have every right to be angry, Hoboh. Fancy having a bloke wearing an Aussie Rules Carlton Football Club top winning the cheese rolling championship. Shame, I say, SHAME.

As for Batman, well all the skeletons are coming out of the cupboard now, wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the line fraud charges get mentioned. This excuse of a woman has set charities back years because of her cheating, big herself up (if she could get any bigger that is) ways!
Turns out it's really another all about me story, another migrant who fleeced the taxpayer!
Complete prick this bloke is!'Communities will descend into savagery and arson without Kids Company': Yentob's extraordinary letter threatening civil disorder if pet charity did not get £3million

Plainly, they didn't like the idea of being spotted on the famous buses but still managed to get here! The latest rise in net migration has been mainly driven by a continuing rise in those coming to work in Britain who account for 65,000 of the increase with nearly two-thirds already having a job to come to. It includes a near doubling in the number of Romanians and Bulgarians coming to Britain from 28,000 to 53,000 in the last 12 months.
WTF do you expect when your Prime minister is suckling on the teats of Merkel? Grow a pair and introduce a proper controlled immigration scheme and toss illegals back!Immigration minister James Brokenshire describes 94,000 annual rise in overall net migration as ‘deeply disappointing’
