It's toasty in the Garden, if that's any comfort.

That's probably because you're in the Garden of England. As some wazzock said to me but a moment ago (about an entirely unrelated subject) "you need to check your privilege, matey!"

Having confirmed and indeed, celebrated my ongoing mid life crisis, I contacted my insurance company this morning to change the car details on my policy to the new Z4. "That'll be £360 for the next 7 months cover please Bob" said Axa's man. A quick check with moneysupermarche offered me a 12 month policy for £350 with, er, Axa. I rang the bloke back who blustered and stuttered his way through a rather pathetic explanation before cancelling the old policy and starting the new. "Would you like to pay that monthly Bob"? was his next question, "That'll be an APR of 49.6%" please". I paid the robbing Shylocks in full. Unimpressed.

Gets more farcical at work by the day. I've just denied a 'client' access to the database because their bank is Syrian. The rules surrounding money laundering are quite clear, and all Syrian banks, even First Bank of Syria and Overseas are on the fxcking list. But, however, I've just been informed that my refusal could look Islamophobic. How the fxck can that be I asked (worded differently obviously)? The answer being that Syria is/was part of the United Arab Republic and Arabs are associated with Islam and therefore refusal on the basis of being Syrian implies I am refusing them for being Islamic.
I've sent a very long email back to German group HQ, basically in a nutshell stating two things.
All Mexican banks are on the list, but nobody complains about Romano-catholicophobia when I refuse payment options from them.
All Syrian banks are still on the list and I could lose my job, and be prosecuted, if I ignored this fact.

So basically I'm being bollocked if I don't and being sacked if I do.
Redundancy can't come fast enough...

Just boiled the kettle and poured it into two mugs. Into one I put a Lemsip, into the other a lump of vicks ready for the towel over my head.

You'll never guess what happened next.

Updated Freelander, not really a decent 4x4 tbh.
