I would have loved to have seen all those acts live. Original, vibrant, engaging and able to knock out a decent tune.Raven wrote:I saw enough on TV that put me off going, Status Quo, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Jones, Tony Christie, Blur what is it a show for old farts (of which I am one)
Then to hear Lilly Allens there and Lady fecking Ga Ga!
No bloody thanks!

Time to revive this thread as it all starts again later this week.
I'm going, third time on the trott - had an amazing time each time.
Weather forecast = sun, sun, sun (fingers crossed, touch wood, etc)... I hope the lack of mud (fingers crossed, touch wood, etc) doesn't detract from the experience (fingers crossed, touch wood, etc)!
Am mainly looking forward to Stevie W, Gorillaz, Alabama 3 and Slash, other than that i'm sure I'll find plenty of random stuff to entertain me for the weekend.
DSB - you doing the free paper again this year?

The Stranglers are there too.ratbert wrote:And Rolf Harris.Worthy4England wrote:Don't forget to look in on The Wurzles and Seasick Steve.Enjoy.
Making my Glasto debut this year. Richard Thompson and Os Mutantes top of my 'must watch' list.
Loyal White, which are your recommended camping areas?
Quite frankly, I'd have probably asked for me money back on finding out U2 were being replaced by Gorillaz...

I've camped in the dance field for the last two years which was decent, but will be in Pennard Hill this year as fancy a change and it's closest to Shangri-La and the Stone Circle. It's the most popular field in the festival though so if you're in a big group it's best to get there early.
To be honest I don't think it really matters where you're camped, the site is massive so you're always going to have a bit of a walk to something. The plus side to that is that you'll find loads of quality random things to investigate on your way.
The Brothers Bar is by the West Holts stage, so I'd always make sure you've not got too much of a distance to walk there

First thoughts....
Gorillaz as a headliner - now, I've seen them live. They were great. However, they proved me right on a stage as big as this - it eventually felt like the cartoon band, mutlimedia experience wouldn't work. It wasn't exactly the Spinal Tap 12 inch Stonehenge, but it was getting there. And, by that, i don't mean a mini Swindon.
The addition of Snoop was nice enough, but nothing more than that.
Speaking of which, Snoop - on too early. Obviously the Eavis' are tentative about getting a rap act to headline again after Jay-Z's divided set. The success of last year on too early. I'm talking Dizzee Rascal. Saturday evening, ideal for him. Friday afternoon? Silly. Willie Nelson - on too early. Surely you put that on at the same time slot as Diamond or Harris - big successes. Successful lessons not learned there.
However, I saw Groove Armada's set on the John Peel stage live on Friday night. Awesome.
