Easy 17.51 for Idowu in his first jump.

Surely Pickering has got us disqualified in the 4x100.

Apparently we might have a chance...he was mid air when the changeover happened or something?

Delayed indefinitely due to bad weather as far as I know.

For me, the outside chance is not that we were within the rules, it's that the officials are incompetent and there is no protest.

Pickering saying that he only needs his hand should be in the changeover zone. If that's the case, then we might just get away with it. Suppose his feet weren't on the track when he had the baton in his hands, but we'll be very, very lucky if we get away with it.

Marlon Devonish giving it the "Craig shouldn't take responsibility, it's a team thing", and making it look like the least convincing thing he's ever said in his life.

I've lived down South too long.

Oh, we're out. Bloody Pickering.

Disqualified. From the interview, I think they'll lynch him now...

He completely bottled it.

I used to run 100m at a decent national school level (once lined up against 7 black fellas, no joke) and I know it's easy to do. Basically, if others around you set off, it takes a huge feat of discipline to not go yourself.

I'd expect our Olympians to manage it though. I have to say that Pickering has never looked he has the required class when I've seen him, and this won't help his development one bit.

Well he isn't going to be feeling brilliant atm, so hopefully he can build some confidence back for the world championships next year. He's a good indoor runner but doesn't seem to cut it at 100m internationally certainly

He seems a decent lad and whenever I see him at uni it's usually in the gym or on/around the track. He's got time on his side and like I say, hopefully he can build up some confidence for next year.

Saw Pickering on that "Sprint" programme on the BBC about 4 young sprinters and he didn't come across well - there was a bit where he went on a big bitter rant about not earning much money and how if he was top 20 in the world in football he'd be on 100k a week.

Hopefully not as a goalkeeper, though.
