Monty. I suspect that she would. As I understand things as they stand the monarch is the titular head of the UK and devolving from that of those countries who accept them as a 'head of state'. If a 'ruling' monarch dies then the position passes to their (UK designated) successor. Ergo, if there is no successor - as would occur if the UK itself became a republic - then those countries relying on the principle of succession are left in a constitutional 'limbo' and will need to do a bit of neat footwork to rationalise their legal system.
I'd be somewhat surprised if Constitutional experts of this country have not already formulated a workable alternative. There would have, I surmise, to be some form of plebiscite to affirm the changes (if any) to the interim "emergency" Constitution invoked by the government of the day.
