I might add that the demonstration he's doing is bollox. Once you've dried cheese out in a pan it goes solid and sits on the fat ii exudes. Don't need a non-stick pan for that.

I want to know what scrambled eggs do in it. Thats the acid test.

Scrambled eggs? No problem. I've never ever had anything that a very light swipe with a damp cloth didn't remove and I've done scrambled eggs in it plenty. Mind I like em sloppy so they wouldn't stick would they?

I don't work for Woll so you know I don't care either way! But honestly I've melted a plastic bag in my pan and its just slipped out with no residue. You may well question my sanity for doing so but about a year ago I wanted to test whether it was "still non-stick". And it was.

Tonight was anther brilliant meal at Spice Valley. Bruce posted that he thought it had gone downhill recently. Well, if it had, tonight it was in full redemption mode...

My fish starter was salmon chunks, coated in mustard, flavoured with cumin and coriander and was great.

My second was Chicken and Spinach, a beautiful, not heavy, sauce bursting with flavours and spice zing, with jeera rice, roast cumin seeds and fresh coriander. Wonderful...

Partner had two equally approved veggie dishes...

Two glasses of red wine.

Forty quid...

And, three days ago, in Cordoba, at a restaurant called Los Plateros, I tried salt cod for the first time. It won't be the last. We had a salad of cold salt cod, rings of fresh orange and sweet white onions. It was great - extraordinary range of flavours put together and absolutely worked. With a cold montilla fino.

Did I? Sorry, let me explain myself a little better. It is, in my opinion, still the finest Indian restaurant around by some distance (and it's up against some stiff competition), but I do note that much of the current menu is far more 'mainstream' than when the place first opened.
Still brilliant though. The chicken saag is absolutely delicious.
