Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Something not quite sitting right..
These shooting were in retaliation for the killings of a man in Louisiana and one in Minneapolis..
So why, out of all the places where there were rallies (and there were plenty), did CNN and NBC choose to do their live feed and place the majority of the attention in Dallas??
This was BEFORE the shootings, I hasten to add..
Did they have intelligence that they didn't pass onto the police?

Perhaps, as here, if you intend to march in protest you must first alert the authorities who then issue a licence.
Perhaps also there were film crews all over the place (I'd be amazed if there wasn't) and Dallas became the more 'newsworthy' item.

it really feels like there's a racial powder keg waiting to explode big-time...

Is it race anti-police though? Do we know the ethnicity of the officers killed?

Unquestionably, even though one officer was black he was police. The shooter, a former marine sergeant, drove a long way to kill Louisiana cops.Gary the Enfield wrote:thebish wrote:more police officers shot dead today...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
In my ignorance I googled her. The sites appear to be daily mail and people magazine (I use lower case deliberately). I'm not entirely sure what minging means (Bruce helps me out with these) but she seemed quite attractive to me. Oh well, different strokes.Montreal Wanderer wrote:\Well, I go on BBC each morning and saw nothing today. CBC didn't pick it up. Equality and diversity training we had to do at work. Is there a bigger waste of time?

Posting about it on an internet forum?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

^^ This from the man who seems to live in the Islington bubble and castigated me for not knowing what LGBTQCBAMECBEPRS-H.... (ad infinitum) meant.thebish wrote:Prufrock wrote:Equality and diversity training we had to do at work. Is there a bigger waste of time?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

maybe I got it wrong... you DID say you have led them, no?
(I've never lived in Islington or in a bubble - though living in a bubble sounds like fun!)
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I think he means me. And tbf Islington is bloody lovely.
What he "hadn't heard of" (not that I think he was pretending for effect) was BAME (black and ethnic minority), a term the HR dept at all three of my adult jobs (public and private sector) were all over.
As for diversity things, they're a piss take. The most racist person in the world knows they're not supposed to pick any of the three ridiculous options to the question "what would you do in x situation?" and instead just click the one that is essentially "be nice"'.
