I kept away as long as I could, fearing the same. Think I'd better take the dog for a walk. :(

Sorry!

Would I be able to redeem myself if I did a rain dance in my living room?

Pretty painful isn't it? I was relying on Matt Prior. Either him or Bell have pulled us out of it quite a few times. Plaudits to Ali though for coming through when needed.173-7 at tea.

Can you believe it? Is it true and not a nightmare? Penultimate ball after a heroic defence. Sheer tough luck, but the game wasn't lost by these two. Need to get out frontliners performing and quick.

To be honest the game was lost by a middle/lower order collapse in our first innings and then poor bowling for Sri Lankas second innings.

I sat in front of my pc watching the online commentary and the footabll on TV. It was nerve-wracking watching the cricket clock tick on. Far more so than the football.

A series loss or draw was the outcome. The footie was really a glorified dead rubber.

That test match and the series could hardly have got any closer.

The deciding match between a draw or loss/win depending upon who you follow, second to last ball after a heroic last wicket stand.

Great test match cricket.
