I kept away as long as I could, fearing the same. Think I'd better take the dog for a walk.thebish wrote:oh tit.. i was avoiding listening for fear i'd jinx it... looks like you did!!Nicko58 wrote:Root gone. The weather may be our only hope now.

Would I be able to redeem myself if I did a rain dance in my living room?

Well, so much for Prior's 'Spirit of Auckland' innings.

If Nicko would kindly care to get his dancing shoes out please.

Pretty painful isn't it? I was relying on Matt Prior. Either him or Bell have pulled us out of it quite a few times. Plaudits to Ali though for coming through when needed.173-7 at tea.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Can you believe it? Is it true and not a nightmare? Penultimate ball after a heroic defence. Sheer tough luck, but the game wasn't lost by these two. Need to get out frontliners performing and quick.

To be honest the game was lost by a middle/lower order collapse in our first innings and then poor bowling for Sri Lankas second innings.TANGODANCER wrote:Can you believe it? I sat in front of my pc watching the online commentary and the footabll on TV. It was nerve-wracking watching the cricket clock tick on. Far more so than the football.

A series loss or draw was the outcome. The footie was really a glorified dead rubber.TANGODANCER wrote:I sat in front of my pc watching the online commentary and the footabll on TV. It was nerve-wracking watching the cricket clock tick on. Far more so than the football.
That test match and the series could hardly have got any closer.
The deciding match between a draw or loss/win depending upon who you follow, second to last ball after a heroic last wicket stand.
Great test match cricket.
