Re: Today I'm angry about.....
For what it's worth, when we go to the pub, which we often do on a weekend. My kids will be in tow and yes, they'll probably have a device like my phone or a tablet in which to keep them entertained should they star getting bored.
Being a parent to young children, I am, actually, still allowed to have a social life.
So if that makes me a "t*at", or means I have a "tosspot" family, then pray you don't bump into me in a pub and say as much

You've been waiting for that one, have you? I qualified it with in a quietish pub. But if you behave like that and I call you out on it I don't need to pray for anything.boltonboris wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2018 5:53 pmFor what it's worth, when we go to the pub, which we often do on a weekend. You're very easily amused. Maybe I should have been a comedian. (if I exist).

Headphones, kids or adults are nice people if they have sounds blaring out of devices anywhere in public. The kids may or may not not be nice people, but their parents most certainly are.

Do you have kids?Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2018 5:32 pmtw*ts in (quietish) pubs that not only allow but encourage their brats to stream kiddies programs/games on their fxcking loud tablets/smartphones.
Currently surrounded by not one or two, but three tosspot 'families', all semi-drowning out the background music, and just producing a really annoying high-pitched babble.
Oh great, and now one's been let loose on the fxcking piano...
Its a shame they disturbed your drinking. Must have been a real annoyance.
If you don't want to be disturbed and want a cast iron guarantee, then stay at home!

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Thanks for the advice. Never thought of that. However, if you want a creche, take your kids to a fxcking playground, not invade a social area dedicated to the quiet contemplation of life over a few pints inhabited by people who go in there every fxckin day and whose hard earned dosh keeps the establishment buoyant.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2018 8:40 amDo you have kids?Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2018 5:32 pmtw*ts in (quietish) pubs that not only allow but encourage their brats to stream kiddies programs/games on their fxcking loud tablets/smartphones.

So I've ignored your advice, and, in concert with other 'locals' have had a word with the landlord, who has agreed to put up a discrete sign stating all phones and tablets should be muted. He's also had a word with the kid who was wet behind the ears who was on duty last night telling him not to allow such a situation to escalate to that measure again... in other words, they can fxck off home, not me. Thanks.

A creche and a playground are separate concepts entirely.Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2018 3:25 pmThanks for the advice. Never thought of that. You seem annoyed that there were people spending money in a pub that you like.
You really aren't coming across well here. People with kids talking in a pub are "tosspot families".
If you really honestly think that, its time to evaluate either your mental health or your general wellbeing.
That's all I've got to say on that.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Creche and playground are more similar concepts than "people with kids talking in a pub" and three families allowing their kids to broadcast Peppa fxckin Pig at full volume with two other sources of kiddies programs going on simultaneously while the little brats ran around like harpies. I've got plenty more I could say on the matter so I'm glad you've shut up.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2018 3:32 pmA creche and a playground are separate concepts entirely.Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2018 3:25 pmThanks for the advice. Re: Today I'm angry about.....
...as a counterpoint, a nice bunch of people (extended family, group of friends?) has wandered in an hour ago with seven children, similar age range to yesterday's Muppets, and peace reigns: adults chatting, music playing uninterupted in the background, children reading, or colouring in books, or playing games on tablets with volume muted. Dog, called Star lying down, nose to nose with one of the regular dogs. Peace and harmony reigns. It doesn't take a genius to see the fxcking difference, but all it takes is one stroppy boltonboris and his brats to upset the equilibrium. We all know they're out there, we're just thankful the nice people are elsewhere.
