What are you playing tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

the first is probably my favorite album from the last 5 years. the only song ive heard from the new one is the single, and it would be the weakest track on the first album :(
yeah me too, though mistress maple is a great track. i have only played the new album once or twice, and struggling for an excuse to give it another go to be honest. nothing stand out at all.

in my earphones at the moment is 2 many dj's, Soulwax - frickin awesome!

If you get a chance to see them live, Caps, they're very well worth your time, your money and your applause.

Edit: Sorry, missed the word 'worth'. feck knows how!

It's my first listen, but up to now I'd say that it starts off briiliantly and then sort of empties out quite quickly. I shall re-evaluate after a few more listens I reckon.
And it's had quite sufficient plays to impress me, which on the whole it hasn't, and I'll stand by my original remarks (except for briiliantly  )

There are a couple of funky tracks that grow on you but overall I'd suggest listening to it before committing to buy it.

Still, undeterred as ever after being fished-in once again by one song, on the free cd that came with last month's The Word there's a song by a girl that trades under the questionable sobriquet of Joan As Police Woman. So rich is her voice that I've just ordered the album. I'll let you know how I get on with it.

Oh, and right now I'm just listening to the free cd that's come with this month's edition.

And I hope that you're enjoying it too.

Something I've noticed is that people capturing gigs on mobile phones and then posting the results on youtube must surely be the nemesis of the live performer.

The song that's fished me in is titled 'Holiday'. I've just found the youtube version. For the love of God, don't bother. How do you post up a studio version of something instead? Anyone know? :conf:

Had a good night of mixed stuff with lots of old favourites. Lot of Motown, Marvin Gaye, George McRae, Harold Melvin etc. Came to an abrupt (early morning) end when the daugter started with Robbie fxxking Williams. Night all.

Maybe playing Robbie Williams to your guests is the new 'unplugging the tele whilst yawning', Tango. :D

Now that, is a point well-worthy of consideration Bruce, although she moaned when we finally rang a taxi. I might borrow a CD from her for our own guests though, then again, she may get the wrong idea.

Some good stuff from Elbow (who I'd never heard of before today). Couple of gems, few in the "wierd shit" category too
