Turns out that Hans Asperger lied, and in fact was a Nazi who killed hundreds of children.

Well actually:
1. He wasn't a Nazi. Unlike nearly 80% of doctors in Germany (and Austria) in the 1930s, he never joined the party.
2. And what precisely are you declaring Disgusting? The fact that Nazi Germany had a eugenics program, or that Asperger kept many children off the eugenics list by his enumerating their 'special abilities'?

Seems to me that you've been taken in by the sensationalist reportage of common journalists who have read and failed to correctly interpret one provocative article in the science journal Molecular Autism.
Context. You'll be spouting Daily Mail crap next.

Lets look at the actual source article itself. Context. Get stuffed.
Results
Asperger managed to accommodate himself to the Nazi regime and was rewarded for his affirmations of loyalty with career opportunities. He joined several organizations affiliated with the NSDAP (although not the Nazi party itself), publicly legitimized race hygiene policies including forced sterilizations and, on several occasions, actively cooperated with the child ‘euthanasia’ program. The language he employed to diagnose his patients was often remarkably harsh (even in comparison with assessments written by the staff at Vienna’s notorious Spiegelgrund ‘euthanasia’ institution), belying the notion that he tried to protect the children under his care by embellishing their diagnoses.

Conclusion
The narrative of Asperger as a principled opponent of National Socialism and a courageous defender of his patients against Nazi ‘euthanasia’ and other race hygiene measures does not hold up in the face of the historical evidence. What emerges is a much more problematic role played by this pioneer of autism research. Future use of the eponym should reflect the troubling context of its origins in Nazi-era Vienna.

And I'm sorry, even with that pathetic article, with no direct quotes to source material whatsoever... WHERE THE FXCK DOES IT STATE (as you claim) "that in fact he was A NAZI WHO KILLED HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN"?
Context - I can see why you dismiss it so readily.

No, they didn't mention George. I wonder why they called the company which built the Stockton to Darlington railway, powered by the Rocket, Robert Stephenson and Co.? Is George the father of railways and Robert the father of the railway engine (making George the grandfather)? They said Robert's cousin George was the father of New Zealand railways. A bit short of imagination naming their offspring, those Stephensons.

They certainly were short of an imaginative naming convention. Very similar in a way to the Washington's of that ilk.

However, twas George the inventive one and Robert being the mere Tory Capitalist. Wasn't only railways, they had other enterprises. Still, doesn't detract from the fact that if someone wearing an article of clothing is engaged in "culturally appropriation" then someone travelling on my culture's transport mode is also guilty of "cultural appropriation".

Seems to me that Cultural Appropriation is a nonsense and should be be shouted down by right minded people every time it rears its ugly racist head.

I agree there. Fifty years ago half the people one saw at university were wearing Mao jackets or Nehru jackets. It didn't seem to bother anyone. Mao was probably quite pleased.

Well, I mean, yes, but the only reason anyone publishes articles about cultural appropriation is because people like you get all angry about it.

Not. A. Thing.

Like when people wrote articles about how you couldn't call a blackboard a blackboard (it's Health and Safety gone mad, Stew) and then well meaning people living in a culture where that bollocks is constantly spouted got nervous and so stopped calling blackboards blackboards.

In short, I'm saying it's all your own fault :).

The latest chapter in Tango v the Doctor's surgery: Lengthy, but I need to gibber. Every word true.

I hardly ever visit the doctor or hospital. I'm either very lucky or very wary, or both. About 7 weeks ago I went up to the hospital to get some small, disposable batteies for my hearing aids. The Audio department fixed those up, then, when I passed in my little brown book of records, told me I was due a nother hearing test as it was three years since I had one. Fine, can you book me a test?
No, sorry, you;ll have to ring your doctor and get him to make a referal.
Okay.
You'll also have to make an appointment to have your ears syringed out.
Okay.Can I do that here?
No, you'll have to ring your doctor to make an appointment...
Okay...

To cut the story short somewhat,I rang the doctor's surgery to book a phone call with the doctor (compulsory procedure) . Why do I have to do that? So he can make an appointment for an earwash. Ah. The appointment was duly made for three weeks hence. Three weeks. 27th of March, 2-15 pm at Frederick Street Health Centre, to be exact. I attended on the set date, kept the appoinment and had my ears syringed. What now? Ring your doctor and he'll make a referal to get you an appointment for a test.( Make that a re-test.) I rang the receptionist at my doctor's surgery and explained the case. She asked me.... believe this, what made me think I needed a hearing test. Pardon? (bad pun) Well, because I already have hearing aids and I need another test. Who says so? Sigh...The Hospital Audio department. It's why you made me an appointment for an ear wash which I had three weeks ago. Okay, I'll leave a note for the doctor to make a referal. Will I be notifed? Yes.
Four weeks later I had heard nothing (another bad pun) so I ring and ask just what is happening? Who told you to ring the doctor? Well, actually, indirectly, you did when you said you would notify him three weeks ago.....lengthy silence.
Hello? Oh, er, we don't appear to have any record of that at all. But...........go through the whole rigmarole again.
Okay, very well, I'll leave word for the doctor to make a referal and you'll be notfied.

I live in hope...

Audiology sent me an appointment through because it was four years since my last review/hearing test Tango.
Had a test told my aids were now pants for my hearing levels, issued with two new ones and leapt off the chair when the Audiologist spoke!
Had forgotten just how noisy the world is and it's bloody terrifying.
At least the tv volume is about 25% of what it was now and apparently I speak quieter.

About right Hobes. It's all crazy; I know they are hearing aids and not deafness cures, but if the wife puts the kettle on I can't hear the telly, and eating a packet of crsisps sounds like a thunderstorm. Thing is, I never asked for a test in the first place, Audio told me I was due one.
