Agreed. At present we are down for 4meg, but get between 2.5 and 3.5 meg depending on usage and how busy things are. Reckon we'll get at least 8meg after the upgrade which, as it's free, is none too shabby. Some people with Sky pay for 16meg and get just over 2meg, depending on how far they are from the BT exchange - people who live next door to it have far more chance of getting somewhere near it.

I got a quote from virgin for the phone, broadband & TV ( XL ) with sky sports 1,2 & 3 £89.00
a month.

Sky's current offer is £35.00 a month plus the £12.50 I currently pay BT.

Anyone got that BT Vision and is it any good?.

And and and.....

You better move sharpish son.....all existing customers get a broadband upgrade for nowt before the end of the year. So I'll be going from a merry 4meg to an astoundingly ecstatic 10meg.....

and if you reckon you're actually GONNA get 10meg then you want to lay off the ale pal.

If you get a third of that you'll be doing well.

UK lags (geddit) behind most EU countries for broadband speed.
If you're in a cable area, Virgin can punt their broadband through that and you get more or less exactly what you're offered, unlike the degrading phone line service which gets slower the further from an exchange you are. (allegedly)
