Just back now from the flicks. This surpasses Batman Begins with every single minute.
Though I never thought I'd say this - Maggie looks rough.
However, gotta love the work on Harvey, I went with a group who knew nothing of the character, so his transformation was a shock to them. It was done differently than in the normal Batman universe (ie-the history of Dent is that he ..... you know what (spoiler free) in a different manner) but this difference wasn't a bad thing.
Everything that could have been said about Heath was true, though this site's resident movie critic fell a little short. There is no equal to this performance, he BECAME the role so completely that he deserves a posthumous award. Not necessarily an Oscar, but his performance will be remembered for a long time.
All in all, this was an absolute triumph.
More please.

I would recommend the Animated Series if you have a few quid spare.
Excellent stuff. http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/161720/B ... oduct.html
Do I smell an official Batman thread? I hope so.....

I've got the bluray of "Gotham Knight" here to watch actually, not got around to it yet.
Never really liked the modern films until "Batman Begins"...they were okay but Begins was just a brilliant film, kinda like how I imagined a Batman film should be, how to explain it...beforehand they all seem a bit too "comic booky", and yes I know that sounds silly but there you go.

Just an unbelievable film. Saw it at Preview on Wednesday and was blown away. Everything Batman said in the previous post was true. Heath Ledger's performance is something that I've never seen the likes of before. Even Bale surpasses Batman Begins by a long way!
AMAZING!!!
AMAZING!!!
"Anything else you'd like? How about real lead in the radiation shields? Urinal cakes, maybe?"
yeah i booked it weeks ago for an imax showing tonight, it actually should be finishing off right about now had i not endured the biggest farce of an evening since i witness our 3rd xi lose in lisbonBatman wrote:Off to IMAX on Monday to check it out on there too.
got to the odeon at the printworks, got to our seats which were meant to be both premier seats but only one was due to some cock-up with the online ticketing system which apparently always happens yet doesn't seem to be ever getting fixed (same happened to a family of 5 infront, and by that time someone was sat in the unreserved seat next to them so the dad and one of his kids actually had to go a couple of rows up)
anyway, i sat down to watch the film in my bog standard unreserved seat while my gf laughs at me from her throne-like premier seat next to me, no bother, film starts, we're about an hour into it and it's f*cking awesome as expected, then all of sudden the sound drops out of synch with the picture, after 5-10 minutes more of watching this outstanding film rapidly turning into a farce the screen is switched off and following some futile attempts to synch the sound back up to the picture we all have to leave to collect refunds and get free vouchers for any future showing at odeon
except due to the earlier cock up with the seats the attendant had took our tickets at the time and never returned them, after being passed around 3 or 4 staff members we are told we can't get a refund without the ticket (they took) and instead gave me a further 4 free passes
so yeah, down with odeon, imax, and christian bale's ott gruff batman voice
