Anything to do with Robin Hood - when did they guy ever have an American accent?

How could they sooooo miss the point and nuances in these remakes?
Hang on Worthy - Errol Flynn was born in Australia but grew up in England, Brian Bedford and Cary Elwes are English, while Sean Connery and Patrick Bergin at least British. Don't judge all Robins by Douglas Fairbanks and Kevin Cosner.
How dare you forget Richard Green, Monty?
I thought Greene was only in television but could have made a movie I suppose.

Doesn't matter really because there's no specific Robin Hood story. It's all based on legend and none of it provable, not even where he really came from.

Shame Marion Morrison never signed up for active service, unlike his Western peer Audie Murphy.

Nor do we know what accent he had if he did exist - probably as close (or closer) to modern American as modern English.

Cape Fear

It could well have been a good remake but I'd never watch it as the original was so good and should not have been messed with.

Loxley Village , near Barnsley. If you're interested there's a quite fascinating account of that period at:

Most consider the remake better than the original. But the original had Telly Savalas with hair!

The Thing (1982) is considered a remake superior to its original, though I'd differ on that. Give me suspense over gore anytime.

The remake is tense as fook (specially when they work out theyre in the shit but dont know which one of em it is. ) with added gore - the gore served a purpose in explaining how the "Thing" worked.
The original was a bit meh.

A good point since it was taken from a Samurai story originally. Proved to be a successful film though, so the sin wasn't as great as in other instances.
