It's three feet long overall and the same high, but this rigging business is a real nightmare. The holes you have to thread through are 0.8 of a millimetre and, like the Zulus, there's bloody thousands of em.

Always used to make me smile when they said on the adverts, "A child of ten could put it together."

You'd better send him round then! :D
Zulu, are you requesting the services of a child of 10 ?

.... & so soon after you'd stopped having to sign the register, too ??

In days of yore, TANGO, I often thought of building some sort of ship akin to your current project (it looks magnificent, by the way) but it was the rigging that always put me off launching into such. Whilst I had no doubt as to my ability to construct the vessel itself, it was the prospect of making a mess of the sheets that convinced me not to start. Patience they say is a virtue but, as best I can gather, fumblefingers are not.

Well, ( for Raven's benefit mainly) just about finished the ship now. I was going to put sails on it, but decided against. Took five months start to finish.

the cutty sark would be easier - you'd just need some old wood and a box of matches...

That's turned out a right treat, TANGO, congratulations on a wonderful result from your ende..., sorry, effort.

As most on here are aware that ship has a significant resonance to many who live in this country.

Now the deed is done have you made some sort of arrangement with Mrs TANGO as to who is going to dust it? Methinks some sort of (probably expensive) plastic cover might save a few arguments. I've got a couple of die-cast model cars on display (no, I didn't assemble them) each of which is much smaller than the Whitby Jim's you have, but it's a job of a modelling paintbrush and much huffing and puffing each week or so to keep them remotely presentable. :(
