Hmm I like that idea. Might take a look at rentals round there. :pissed:

:D This is the village i live in - 5 min on the bus to Haywards Heath Station, up to Victoria within 45 min. Near the countryside, not far from Brighton and the sea (about 20 min) crime rate pretty much zero. Its a great place to live. South is where its at ;)

Village pond (hubby and i ended up in a dinghy on here after out stag/hen nights)

My lad used to live & work in Chiswick, but had to spend most of his (v good) wages on just living expenses. He has since moved to Ealing. Well, Ealing/Hanwell border. Much cheaper than Chiswick and only 15 mins on the train to work. As always in that London, there's the posh on one side of the road, and the downright poor on the other, but where he lives has a tiny bit of 'that bit in middle'; making it affordable to 'young professionals'. ( Or those kids starting out with almost every economic barrier in front of them).

Used to work there many moons ago and quite enjoyed it. Very good place for the younger ones. It dispels the myth that south of the river is a no go.

Yeah, I liked Clapham - had family that used to live there. There was a really nice Youngs pub on the common.

Not quite. Clapham is a great place for early evening drinks but you don't wanna be there after midnight. Here Be Dragons!

North London has some fabulous areas including Enfield. I live 10 minutes away from stunning countryside and 30 minutes by train to the City Centre. The area's served by 2 overground lines (into Liverpool Street and Moorgate) and is close to the Victoria and Piccadilly lines. I would reccommend Enfield, Barnet, Southgate or Cockfosters. Pfffft, Hackney is where it is at. I get a lovely view bag shops on Hackney Road out of the flat window....

That's pollution not snow by the way....

If I was lucky (or a few doors further up) I'd get to see this delightful hotel... stunning architecture...

That said it does depend what you're after, I'm lucky, work in the city and have a 20 minute walk to work.

10 minute walk to Brick Lane
Browns and Ye Old Axe Wound at one end of Hackney Road and Metropolis at the other...

What more could a man want???

I cannot wait to move out into the countryside after feeling the full effects of the Olympics on our flat price...

There's a hole in the world like a great black pit
and it's filled with people who are filled with shit!
And the vermin of the world inhabit it!
And it goes by the name of London.

Travelling on the tube. Yes. There are downsides to living anywhere. There are pluses too. I concentrate on them.
