Had England won the toss we'd have had Indjar out by now.
Based on what? He could be back tomorrow, could be 3 months.

Anyway, good start this morning.
Based on the one I suffered when I was 13 8)

Is there still a rule saying that any player who dons the wicketkeeper's gloves is not allowed to bowl in that innings/match?

That happened to our team when we played...at under 13s level ffs.

Fair enough, hamstrings are interesting things. Recovery time depends on a whole host of factors including not just which sport you play, but what position you play in that sport. Good theory behind it all.

I don't believe there is such a rule - a wicket keeper can bowl like anyone else can...

No. Pretty sure that will have just been a local league rule. In my under 13 team our best 2 keepers happened to be our best 2 bowlers, so either I would start off with the gloves, let the other lad open up with his 4 overs and then switch, or vice versa.

it was boycott's fault... just before trotty went - he said this..
"If you are one of the batsmen waiting to come in for England, in a quiet moment in the dressing-room you are secretly hoping one of your team-mate's (sic) makes a mistake and gets out so you can have a bat in this. I don't see anything special about India's bowling."

He's right in a way. Looks like a lovely day to make runs. India seem pretty subdued in the field, and their best bowler is out of the attack, meaning they'll be heavily reliant on their spinner on day 2 of a test match, and the other 2 'quicks' will be fooked in a bit. Definite time to cash in.

somehow this description could only be made of the crowd at a test match...
Packed stands around the verdant ground, glasses glinting in the bright sunshine, newspapers being folded and unfurled.

Thats because cricket is boring! I'd bring along something to read as well. You wouldn't do that when watching football! (or maybe you do when watching Bolton...)

201 for three now... we could kack this up - but, keep our heads and there is no reason why we can't milk this attack dry this afternoon as Kumar tires...

Dhoni is bowling (nearly bagging KP) - and Dravid is all padded up behind the stumps...
