As for the vote, I agree that putting the armband on Steve's sleeve could well ratchet up his performances, but I think a lot of that stuff is tactical and nothing to do with his devotion to the cause.

I've voted Gerrard in here (well, I have to really, don't I? ;) ) but I wouldn't object if it was given to Terry. They are the only two candidates for it in my eyes, and I think each have their own skills and style to bring to the job. Either one'd do me.
