OK Thanks

How many get cut and at +2, does Harrington stand any chance of making it?

depends on the scores, at the US Open he'd probably be winning with +2, at this one i think he'll be touch and go

A rule I was told, was all those within 10 shots of the leader normally make the cut, so it depends if someone has a brilliant round then the cut will be lower but he might just make it at 2 over.

I've dumped poor old Porridge and gone for the other left-hander in my life Canadian Mike Weir. Bruce don't put any money on him.

thanks

Forget Harrington. If he wins, I'll pay out myself for my negligent advice.

I think it used to be within 10 shots of the leader but I seem to recall they scrapped that rule in favour of top 70 (ish) and those tied on the same score (because one year almost the whole field were within 10 of the lead). Can't see where it says this on the official site though. http://www.opengolf.com/

Any other lefties out there other Gertie and myself? Commie might well be a leftie but he's not necessarily a leftie. And there's that new member LEFTIE, who could be a leftie, or then again he might just be a leftie.

Great to see English and Irish lads up there with the play. Have to say, I doubt if it will last. To win the Open needs character and experience. Based on that, my top four, in no particular order:

Miguel Angel Jiminez
Retief Goosen
David Duval
Ernie Els.

Hope a Brit can do it though. I'd love to be wrong.

Nice piccies.

That second one reminds of a dream I had about three years ago. In it, I was attending a pro-celebrity golf event at a links course very much like Hoylake. I was following The Queen and Prince Philip's group around and after seeing The Duke of Edinburgh tap in for a par I went to the underground car park and got in the lift with Sean Connery and Michael Jackson. A bit later on, still with Sean Connery, the former Bond actor noticed his course-side house (which looked a bit like the Hoylake clubhouse) getting burgled.

Still not worked out what that was all about.

Well, he birdied the last.......... to get to +5. :D Harrington isn't good enough, to be honest - I'm not sure why so many people back him so often.

I wonder if Els can lean on Tiger a bit. My feeling is that he won't.

Anyway, I'm there both days this weekend and I can't wait. 8)
