It is very unlikely that there will be another Phoenix Nights as he has fallen out with Dave Spikey and the guy who plays Ray Von who were the other two main writers. Peter may have written 3/4 of another series - but he's gotta get the characters back.

It's not going to happen unfortunately - it is one of my favourite comedies of all time though.

Peter Kay is slowly becoming the Michael Jackson of the comedy world.

Like Jacko in the 80s he's created some world class material but then sits around for three years counting the money before doing anything new. Everyone waits with baited breath and when it finally comes it's just a rehash of the last thing he did. It's up to him of course - he can do exactly as he pleases and good luck to the guy.

So come on Peter, isn't it's about time for some all new stuff? Ya big closet Man Utd supporting one trick pony!

Look back at early Dave Allen and Tom O'Conner stuff and you'll see that, just liek them, Peter Kay draws his material from everyday life and childhood situations. That's an unending source of humour, so Peter Kay is good for a long time yet.
