BWFC_i answering the question of whether Murray would ever win a grand slam, had this to say a year ago (before the US Open and Olympic gold).

He's reached what, three finals? And each time he's lost to a better player. At the us open he beat Nadal in the semi but had nowt left for the final.

Bottom line is that for a five set tournament he's not quite good enough to blow the better players away and have the energy to play well when needed.

Murray has to play at his peak to get through the last few rounds whereas, Federer, Djokovic, Nadal etc are good enough to be able to drop down a gear every so often.

IMO.

Wimbledon won't be one of them though.
Win a few what? If you mean grand slams then I don't think he will.

He was ahead of Djokovic a few years back but look at the work Novak has put in to get to another level entirely.

To win Murray needs to get past Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. I'm not sure he has the right mentality to keep going and playing consistently well and just wait for his chance and then take it.

Will be happy to be proven wrong though!

I bet Alan Nixon hates Andy Murray or something.

Djokovic coming into the net to try and win quick points is going to tell at some point. Murray having to work a lot harder to win points.

And you're sure of that how exactly? :conf:
Oh, I'm not, it's an opinion. Somehow, I rather expected you to be the one to contest it though.
So on what've you based your opinion then?

Glad to be of service. :)
Possibly on those well known tennis fans, the Rooneys, Victoria Beckham and a few government fans, and my right to have one of course, but never mind, you carry on and put me in my place, I'm sure you've done a personal survey to the contrary. Enjoy your strawberries and cream.
Why would I carry out a survey? I'm asking you to support your claim, which you've now diluted to merely an opinion. I haven't made any claims one way or t'other.
May the bridges I burn light your way

No, if Murray wins another, he'll say "Right then, best of seven".
