3 hours on a hard plastic school chair listening to a lecture on child protection issues has left me with a numb bum and a numb brain. Especially as it could have been summed up in 'if you have any doubts about any child, tell the head and he will deal with it'... Sigh. I know its an important issue but a lot of it is common sense and the rest could have been given in a hand out. My head hurts.

An old adage I remember from my working days, regarding the younger children; 'If they can't cruise, they can't bruise'. It always amazed me though, how many very serious cp issues and decisions were influenced by this saying.

half watching thread, half reading = general chit chat.

Im obsessing about Game of Thrones lately, to think i wasnt really taken with it at first, ive just watched season 1 again, and im half way through it again but this time with the audio commentary on! the commentary is fascinating, pointing out the effort and detail they go into for a few seconds long shot, or talking about locations or fabricating the props... cant wait to do the same with the other series'. There is loads of reading available online too, the show/books are so deep and deatiled, there are pages and pages to read about the different characters, families, castles, land masses and their histories. i love looking at the westeros maps too! its phenominal. Ive just bought the first book of the series too so ill see how i get on with that...

I've not so much as seen one frame of Game of Thrones. It sounds very much my "cuppa" but I'm almost afraid to start as there would be so much to catch up. I fear it could be a long job !!

there are only two series out on DVD so far - wouldn't take you that long to catch up...

Well, I was mainly thinking of the scenes in Orlando's (which I've walked past the outside of in Baltimore!), and a few others. Sopranos' has the Bada Bing, and Deadwood has the whore houses. All great shows, tits on HBO shows are essentially a hallmark of good quality!
