Try BF3 its much better. I'm a complete convert.keveh wrote:The wife was complaining about the sound of the xbox and that if it wasn't for all the shooting and dyeing noises I could play more.
So I got these for Christmas:

They are amazing, even when the wife is out I use them. I know it's usually spiel from manufacturers, but it really does immerse you in to the game. I play MW3 online ten times better with these babies!
Even if I am very bad....
MW3 was the last straw for me with the COD series. Terrible multiplayer. Absolutely shocking. I'm rubbish and even I was doing well in a lot of games. Dumbed down too far even for me.
Re: The Official Xbox 360 Thread
The main thing that is putting me off BF3 is that I don't get long to play and from what I've been told you need a decent stint to get involved properly.
MW3 is brilliant to just jump on for half an hour.

Glad I didn't get it then. May have to check out BF3.BWFC_Insane wrote:Try BF3 its much better. I'm a complete convert.keveh wrote:The wife was complaining about the sound of the xbox and that if it wasn't for all the shooting and dyeing noises I could play more.

I'm exactly the same, probably for the same reasons.....keveh wrote:The main thing that is putting me off BF3 is that I don't get long to play and from what I've been told you need a decent stint to get involved properly.
MW3 is brilliant to just jump on for half an hour.
Which is why I've always stuck to COD in past for quick sessions.
But BF3 is little different. On rush or conquest modes games take between 10 and 25 minutes....usually around 15 minutes, so play a couple each session....
TDM is essentially same length as COD games. (though rush and conquest are so awesome).
Takes a while to get good I imagine but even though I die frequently its still infinitely more fun than MW3. And as I say I'm a new convert.
Trust me it'll completely change how you view online FPS games. Or make you throw your controller at the screen in frustration. Or in my case both...
Nothing more satisfying than destroying an enemy tank, capturing the objective and holding it for your team till reinforcements arrive. Not that I manage any of that....

Red Dead Redemption looks good. Just played it briefly and eventually got my head round the controls after failing to shoot any rabbits. Seems quite similar to Ass Creed to me (but not blindingly white) which is great!
BF:BC2 was good, will wait until #3 gets cheap before getting on board.

The shooting gets easier later in Red Dead when you unlock red eye bullet time to slow things down and aim before shooting. Really good game.Armchair Wanderer wrote:Red Dead Redemption looks good. Chinese staff at Xbox 360 plant threaten to commit mass suicide if their pay demands aren't met
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ ... e-pay.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Three hundred staff at a factory that builds Xbox 360s have threatened to commit mass suicide if their wage demands are not met, it emerged today.
Employees working for electronics giant Foxcon in Wuhan, China, claim the company has failed to hand over wages they're owed.
Campaign group China Jasmine Revolution said they would throw themselves from the plant's roof if the missing money isn't paid.
According to reports, the row broke out following demands for a pay increase for 100 employees on January 2.
Management at Foxconn - the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer and a crucial link in the supply chains of Apple, Dell, Nintendo and Song - then responded with an ultimatum.
It said employees could quit with one month's compensation awarded for each year with the plant or go back to working.
Many employees quit, but Foxconn then allegedly dishonored the agreement and awarded former employees nothing.
Around 300 workers returned to the plant in an uproar, and staged their protest on the plant's roof on January 3.
Wuhan's mayor intervened through hours of negotiations, walking them back from the roof's edge until 9pm when workers agreed to return to work, according to China.com.

Calls to Foxconn were not immediately returned.Choppers wrote:I can't read more, it says "DailyMail" in the link, and I'm blocked from visiting anything with those combination of words in!
A spokesman for Microsoft, the owner of the Xbox 360 brand, told CBS Seattle: 'Microsoft takes working conditions in the factories that manufacture its products very seriously, and we are currently investigating this issue.
'We have a stringent Vendor Code of Conduct that spells out our expectations, and we monitor working conditions closely on an ongoing basis and address issues as they emerge.
'Microsoft is committed to the fair treatment and safety of workers employed by our vendors, and to ensuring conformance with Microsoft policy.'
Contract manufacturer Foxconn, which also counts Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Nokia among its clients, came under fire in 2010 when workers successfully committed suicide in a plant that manufactured components for Apple.
Then, Foxconn told media that it considered every worker's life to be valuable while some plants required workers to sign contracts stating that they wouldn't kill themselves.
Wired magazine was granted access to the factories, which installed nets that would catch anyone attempting to jump.
Touring the Longhua plant in 2011, Terry Gou, the chairman of Foxconn parent Hon Hai Precision, said suicide rates among workers in his plants were smaller compared to the country's and added a country's suicide rate typically climbs when its GDP does, Forbes reported.

I picked up Mass Effect 2 in a "4 pre-owned for 20 quid" deal last week. Rather enjoying it.

might be two different things "full bars" on the xbox usually means yr wireless router is talking to the xbox 'well' .Jokers in White wrote:I'm getting pissed off with the EA Server's on fifa 12, can't finish a online pro club match without being disconnected. "disconnected" implies (?) the internet connection cutting off totally (this would also cut off laptops/tv/phones connected to the router from the internet also) while possibly keeping their wifi/lan connections to the router itself alive.
but you might not mean anything like that. you might mean booted back to the "lobby" , or some luser trying to keep his undefeated streak alive by quiting , just having trouble with that one game , or some shizz thats not disconnected/fullbars/wifi/modem/technical related.
knowing EA though , it could be owt.

Is your NAT open? Moderate?
Also are you wired/wireless?
I find that I only get reliable xbox live play when wired.....

You can't beat a good survival horror, I haven't played SH4 yet but the plot sounds superb. Though Forbidden Siren and Fatal Frame games were too difficult for me.spikeykev wrote:Completely bored by games at the moment I've decided to go back into the old school world of survival horror. Bought Silent Hill 4, Fear 1-3 and Fatal Frame, Project Zero 2. Sold Skyrim already just found it boring, although the world is fantastic, been thinking about picking up Dark Souls but not sure...
I've been holding off on playing Dead Space and FEAR because I've lately become something of a big girl's blouse.

It only happens with Fifa 12 all the rest of my games are fine, i have been disconnected from the ea servers that's what comes up. It don't half piss me off when you can be winning 3-0 then it does it then you lose the match, bet the other guy at the other end is pissing his sides, i'll have no teeth left to grind at this rate.
